Review of Osborne House Care Home from J W (Husband of Resident) published on 9 September 2026 Submitted via Postal Card

I visit my wife Sandra every day. Consequently I've got to know very many staff and have good relationships with all of them. Standing out is Ashleigh, the 1st floor manager. She is outstanding in her role, really caring and hard working. I'm comfortable and re-assured that Sandra is in a good place, especially when Ashleigh is on duty.

Overall Experience

My husband stayed at Holyrood House for respite care recently after a spell in hospital, I was a bit apprehensive at first as our previous experience at another care home wasn't that good. I needn't have worried. The home was lovely and clean, I went to visit the home first and was met with a warm friendly welcome and a lovely atmosphere Everyone who worked here were friendly and kind treating the people in their care with dignity and respect the food and activities were very good. I would highly recommend Holyrood House to anyone.

Avoid this home for any loved ones. It is filthy. No care given. No empathy. Leave residents in agony with no pain relief. Manager has no morals leaves residents paperwork piled high on her desk with her door open so anyone can see. One nurse on nightshift for 3 floors to attend to.

Disgusting no care given. Please avoid. Can't even give any star ratings as they would be below.

Overall Experience

My mum came into Highgrove after the passing of her husband (my dad). The staff were all lovely and they made her stay very enjoyable she has asked to come here again when we go away for a break. Phillipa was very helpful in explaining how to get in touch with adult social services and the reablement team for setting up a care package for mum to go back home. You hear a lot of stories about care homes but I am satisfied that my mum will get good care at Highgrove.

Review of Royal Windsor Care Home from Dorothy J (Relative of Resident) published on 25 August 2026 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience

My brother and his wife were admitted in March 2024 and both were soon afterwards diagnosed with dementia which in both cases has caused significant management issues. All staff have dealt with these with care and professionalism. The home is extremely comfortable and well appointed, all rooms having en suite facilities. There are a number of sitting rooms with comofrtable seating. Drinks and snacks are always available for both residents and visitors. A wide range of activities are provided and once a month a church service is given in the home by a minister from one of the local churches. Every effort is made to attend to the individual needs of my relatives and to enable them to take advantage of anything on offer, to the extent that they each can. Managers are always available to discuss any concerns. Myself and siblings are extremely satisfied with the care provided by the Royal Windsor.

My mum has complex care needs, so it is very important to me that she is looked after with due diligence in a supportive environment. This care home has achieved that. All the staff are dedicated and friendly. They work alongside external agencies and listened to my wishes, communicating weekly on mum's progress. The home is clean and organised and I felt secure that Mum was safe and content during each respite stay.

I came to visit as my aunt is staying here, I cannot give praise to all the staff here from the moment I walked through the door I saw that my aunt was enjoying some activities with staff members, she was enjoying herself so much I didn't want to interrupt! I spoke to a staff member who told me how my aunt was getting along there and I can honestly say she's like a different person. Thank you to all the staff that work there my aunt is having a fun time and I can see that she is getting all the care she needs and some.

My father was recently transfered from hospital to this nursing home. He was only resident for a very short time but the care, compassion & dignity that was shown by all staff caring for him was absolutely exemplary.

The care that was shown to me & my family following Dad's death was also exemplary

Review of Astley Hall Care Home from G D (Daughter of Resident) published on 16 August 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

I just want to thank to every single one of the staff including cleaners, chefs, maintenance as they are all one big family and work together as a team. Mum sadly passed away due to Dementia but Astley's wonderful staff looked after my lovely mum over the 4 years she was there with dignity and respect. She had so many sing songs and was always smiling which speaks volumes. They cared for my mum right up until the end and kept me going too. The manager has an open door policy so rarely if I did ask about anything it was dealt with straight away. Everyone works together as a team and Crown Care are so lucky to find such caring hard workers. What was really lovely is they put together a tribute for my dear mum and some wonderful pictures and the lovely Daventry Ukulele Band with a beautiful cream tea. They really went above and beyond and even though mum is no longer with us I am still greeted with lovely smiles and support when I pop in occasionally. Thank you Astley!

Review of Buckingham Care Home from Glyn L (Son of Resident) published on 14 August 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
My father was admitted to Buckingham care home in November 2025 after a stay in hospital and was a resident there until 10th June 2026. From the first contact with the home to the very last they were welcoming, professional and could not have been more caring in everything they did. The caring staff were outstanding and I can't speak highly enough of them in every aspect. It is difficult for me to see how dad could have had better respectful care, his dignity and rights were paramount to all the staff who looked after him, recognising his individual needs throughout his time in the home. I was regularly and consistently kept informed about every aspect related to dad, from caring through to administration.

All the staff were very approachable and went the extra mile in every way, they are brilliant and have my upmost respect and gratitude. I cannot thank them enough for the care and love they gave to dad. An excellently run care home facility in all respects.

When first arriving at Goldsborough Manor, we both thought it was a beautiful building, well maintained and the gardens were well kept. Review of Royal Windsor Care Home from Tim L (Respite Resident) published on 11 August 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

My wife and I are at a crossroads in our life as a couple because of my declining heath and increasing incapacity and because I need. care at a time.in my wife's life when she has some health issues too. My time at Royal Windsor helped us both to take stock of our evolving situations and to deal with being apart.I found I could ask for help with washing and dressing and was reassured and enabled to retain my.dignity and my independence.
