My mum was a resident at St James Court from 24th September 2024 to 13th November 2025, when she passed away. She had excellent care and was well looked after. The staff are all very friendly, caring and compassionate. I cannot fault the care that she received and i would recommend St James Court.

My Dad has used St James several times for respite and has always been well looked after and is happy there. He has recently been accepted for full time residency now and we remain very happy with his care, staff are all very friendly and love my dad and always willing to assist us with any queries.
Dad can't speak highly enough of the quality of staff, the care he receives, the food especially the gravy. We are very happy with his care and good to see him happy in his new surroundings.

Speaking as the son of a resident - & appreciating that I have no experience of other care homes - I have found St James Court (SJC) to be an extremely pleasant place for my Mum to reside. The staff have been fantastic with my Dad & I, who have been supporting my Mum as she settles into a new way of
life. Whilst we are still finding our feet at SJC, I am more than comfortable with the early signs. Thank you to everyone who is caring for my Mum.
Reply from Tracey Oliver, Home Manager at St James CourtThank you so much for this lovely review. Thank you for putting your trust in us here at St James Court.Once again a Huge thank you.

I can't believe how good this place is. The staff are so passionate about their job everyone has been so kind and caring towards my mother, they now feel as they are part of our family. They all go above and beyond what they do and nothing is too much trouble for them. We went in one day and a member
of staff was on her knees at the side of the bed talking with my mother and holding her hand. I could go on forever praising the staff for how they are. The meals are outstanding there is a dining room the tables all have table cloths and napkins unlike some nursing homes who just have a bare table with cutlery on things like this just makes it so homely for the residents. The cleanliness is yet again outstanding. We are so glad/happy that we found this place, we can rest at night knowing that our mother who we love so much is getting the best care that she deserves at the age of 89.
I do say to people who ask how my mother is that its like a luxury London hotel. I would 100% recommend this place.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart to all involved.
Reply from Tracey Oliver, Home Manager at St James CourtThankyou so much for your lovely review, i am so happy that that you reached out to us, and i 100% agree what you wrote in regards to the dedication and care off all the staff. this place wouldn't run like it does without the amazing staff and continued love and support and this goes for all our residents, relatives and visitors. We generally are one big happy family and love our jobs. It is not only a job to us its an honour to support our residents on a daily basis, and this shows in the smiles and laughter we see on a daily basis.Once again a big thankyou from all us here at st james court.I have printed a copy of your review and handed it out to the staff so they are all made aware how appreciated they all are.

Making the decision to put mum in a home was a difficult one but was made easier by the team of staff at St James. They have gone the extra mile to make mum feel settled and happy in her new home and always have time to chat with me and my sister to reassure us as well. St James Court is a bright,
vibrant and happy place.

The staff and the accommodation at the St James Court are fantastic. I am in no doubt that my dad is receiving the best care for dementia and he is in a safe environment. I live abroad and I am stress-free each time I visit him and then leave. I didn't think he would settle in a care home, but thanks
to the hard work of the staff he did. The staff at the home are his family now too.

My Mum has been at St James Court for fourteen months. It was a heartbreaking decision but Mum has settled in really well thanks to all members of staff. Any problems have been sorted efficiently and promptly, the staff are polite, caring and have a great sense of humour and are easy to get along with.
All areas of the building are spotlessly clean, there is a good varied menu and Mum enjoys her food. I would highly recommend St James's.

My mum has resided at St James Court from the beginning and I have every confidence in the staff team who work really hard on a daily basis making sure my mum is comfortable and happy. When visiting the home everyone makes a effort to say good morning and have always a good listening ear when dealing
with issues or concerns. The home is always clean and safe for other residents to move around safely. The home is always busy with visits from children from the local nursery or doing arts and crafts encouraging the residents to participate. I am so reassured my mum is getting the care she needs and would like to thank everyone at St James, you are a credit to the company and appreciate everything you all do. I would definitely recommend saint James court. Keep up the good work

I am a volunteer at St James Court and I love the time I can spend in the home with the residents and staff. My Mum was in the home for 5 years and since she passed away I still feel her presence here. We had some tears during the time she was here but lots of laughs too. I don't think our family would
have coped at home looking after Mum. We could go and visit her any time and always came away with a smile on our faces (probably something she said, once she said me and my brother looked like each other and we could possibly be brother and sister) and we always knew she was well looked after and safe. My Mum was my best friend and it was the hardest thing to do to put her in a home, but we soon realised that is was the best thing, so that we got quality time with her. Thank you St James for not only looking after my Mum but also for looking me.
Reply from Tracey Oliver, Home Manager at St James CourtI'm so glad you continue to visit us on a regular basis your mum was a big part of the St James Court family as well as yourself and she will never be forgotten. You are a friend for life. Thank you again I will be sure all the staff know how much they are valued.

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.938)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.938) out of 10 for St James Court is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 31 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 31 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.938 for St James Court is calculated as follows: ( (348 Excellents x 5) + (21 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 370 Ratings = 4.938
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for St James Court is based on 31 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 58 registered maximum number of service users is 11.6, which has been reached with 31 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
