My relative has spent time at the Royal Hampton for respite, and hers and our experience was so excellent, she also now has had longer term care.
Of course the decision to go in a care home is a huge one for everyone in the family, not just the residents.
We looked at many, but from the moment we

I've visited the Royal Hampton Care Home a number of times as a friend of one of the residents & it always feels so welcoming and friendly. The Management & staff are so kind, attentive & they genuinely care about the people living there, which really shows in how happy and comfortable everyone
seems. The home itself is always clean, calm and well looked after, and there's a lovely atmosphere whenever I visit. I have been there today for a Valentine's Day coffee morning, they had a harpist & lots of delicious sweet treats!! That's just one of the many lovely activities they do for the residents!! I'd highly recommend the Royal Hampton to anyone looking for a caring and supportive environment for their loved one, 5 stars!!

As soon as we walked in to the Royal Hampton after visiting several other care homes we knew it was the right one for my mother. The impressive entrance and communal areas give the look and feel of a welcoming hotel and this is continued into the resident's tastefully decorated rooms.
The management
and staff have gone above and beyond to help my mother settle in, nothing is too much trouble. There is a huge amount of effort put in to provide a variety of activities and events for the residents and their families.
My mother has made many friends with residents and staff and has made great progress in her time there.
Thanks to all the management and staff for their ongoing support.

My mother reached the ripe old age of 100 which is quite remarkable as she arrived at the Royal Hampton four years ago in a very vulnerable state with circulation issues and toe amputations, she was not given many more years of quality life.
The staff have been very caring and have become friends not
only with my mother but with her immediate family.
Her big birthday celebration was handled extremely well and the Home made a huge effort to co ordinate the families personal requirements as well as their own which was amazing. My mother was was very appreciative and talks about her parties every day.
A big thank you once again to everyone at the Home who made her day very special.Keep up the great work you do and continue to be as caring as you are we appreciate it.

My mum took time to choose Royal Hampton over other homes and she is so happy which important to me too.
She became a resident in mid December 2025 and has been delighted with the care she has received. She has a lovely room with en-suite and the excellent staff give her very good attention and
help with shower and dressing and take her to the dining room three times a day to enjoy meals with other friends. She has a buzzer if she needs any additional help in her room There are lots of different lounge areas to meet friends and visitors and even a bar and fresh coffee is always available to visitors also. The food is excellent. Especially enjoyable are the events with regular different themed high quality entertainment, exercise classes, and trips out in good weather. Mum loves the beauty salon and wonderful hairdresser and manicure experts. She has made a lot of new friends among both the wonderful staff and residents . We thoroughly recommend Royal Hampton

My dad has been at this home for 4 years now and the standard of care and service continues to be outstanding. We can't thank the care and nursing staff enough for the compassion he is always shown. His health continues to decline, both physically and mentally, but the staff always treat him with
dignity and kindness. They show the same compassion to the family as well.

We choose the Royal Hampton care home after visiting many homes in the local area. From the start my mum has been treated with extreme kindness and is receiving a really good level of care. Mum is happy and settled; she has made friends and enjoys taking part in the many activities on offer. As a family
we are always made to feel welcome and staff are really helpful and friendly. It has made a difficult transition much easier. Thank you.

Staff are excellent, professional and extremely caring, however could use extra staff. I've noticed sometimes only 1-2 on at various times. Kitchen staff are also very helpful and approachable. Activites are great and the garden very welcoming. It would be good to know what family has to provide for
resident bedding, hand wash, etc. Overall no major issues.
Reply from Karen Taylor-Williams, Manager at Royal Hampton - PontelandThank you for taking the time to review our Home. On the floor that your Aunt resides there would only usually be 2 staff allocated although there are other members of staff that can assist should the need arise. It is useful to know what information you feel would be beneficial to you as a relative and we will look to included this within the brochure and welcome pack.

Overall my 3 week respite stay at the Royal Hampton was excellent. I have recovered far sooner than I expected and in a large part is this owing to the care and attention I have received. The home offers a fulsome activity programme and the catering - I felt like I was on a cruise! However things could
have been improved by having an introduction to the home and staff should have been made aware I was a short stay patient and not a permanent resident on the nursing floor, though was expecting to on the residential only ground floor.
Reply from Karen Taylor-Williams, Manager at Royal Hampton - PontelandI am pleased that you felt your quick recovery was due to the care you received. Although staff had been informed you were only here for a short stay this obviously had not filtered to all staff, however this would not have changed the way in which you were cared for during your stay. I am sorry that we did not have a ground floor room available at the time of your stay.

The home was excellent, I visited many before choosing a place for my mother. From the very first visit, to the day I picked my mum up to bring her home, they couldn't have made us feel more welcome and comfortable with what could have been a difficult experience. The whole staff were amazing, I can't
thank them enough for the care they showed my mother, and our family.

Amazing and attentive care for our mum over the last 5 1/2 years.
Low turnover of staff and nurses so Mum feels secure with the same familiar nursing and care staff.
Mum particularly enjoys the in-house activities and trips out that the activities coordinator organises.
The food and rooms are lovely
and the home is well maintained.

This is my first experience of a home, but having told friends about it, they all want to live there. The downstairs communal area is like a classy hotel and has a nice feeling about it. Rooms are clean functional and can accommodate personal possessions to help make it feel like home. Like any journey,
it took the residents some time to settle in but now they can see the benefit of being looked after and cared for. And I have to say knowing they are safe and looked after is peace of mind, thank you all.

My friend has been in Royal Hampton - Ponteland for three years, through she is not aware of it. She is comfortable, kept well occupied taking part in activities arranged. Enjoys her food and has gained weight. Needs regular prompting to get a hair cut from the visiting hairdresser. Generally I consider
she is in the best place for her care considering her condition.
