The care team are attentive and caring in all there tasks throughout mums needs. Helped to settle mum from her first arriving onto her new ward a few months ago. All around the carehome is always clean tidy and homely. Mum enjoys fresh cookd dinners and all her meal times so much so that she continus
to put on much needed weight.A good menu variety is always provided. With all the hard work the staff do mum is happy settled and safe. The staff keep me informd when needed and are patient kind polite and supportive. As i dont live in the area i can only get in person when time allows but its a big re assurance mum is in safe hands.Thankyou team for all their hard work.

My Uncle was in The Royal for about 22 weeks.
In that time he received excellent care and felt very safe and loved by everyone he met.
My Auntie spent a lot of time at The Royal during this time and visited him most days, she was made to feel very welcome and cared for, often staying to share a meal
with my Uncle.
Everyone was so kind and considerate of my Uncle and Aunts needs, we were all made to feel very welcome. We will miss our visits.

My Dad has used St James several times for respite and has always been well looked after and is happy there. He has recently been accepted for full time residency now and we remain very happy with his care, staff are all very friendly and love my dad and always willing to assist us with any queries.
Dad can't speak highly enough of the quality of staff, the care he receives, the food especially the gravy. We are very happy with his care and good to see him happy in his new surroundings.

My husband has been at The Royal Care Home since March 2024 and he is settled there, and also I am content that he is in the best place he could be. This lovely home is the best I have ever seen, and I have visited many over the years. Visiting here is like seeing the family and I have made many friends
over the last 17 months. The staff are all dedicated and experienced, as well as being kind to my husband and to me. The activities for residents are many and varied, the food is unbelievably good and the atmosphere is happy + reassuring. Thank you a million times to everyone, staff and management, for all you do, but also your friendship.

I have waited over 10 months before deciding to send in this review as I wanted it to be based on long term observation and not just initial perceptions. My wife was admitted here last October (2024) after suffering a severe and debilitating stroke which left her with very little speech and only limited
mobility in her left arm and leg. Over this time I can honestly say that the staff and management have been fantastic. There have been days when my wife has been depressed and when she has had issues with her physical condition as is to be expected but the staff have responded positively to all requests for that little extra support when she has needed it. There have been times when the level of support she wanted could only be delivered if she had individual 1 to 1 care 24/7 which is not possible but the carers have inevitably risen to the occasion to provide for her needs and raise her spirits. She could not be in better hands. Thank you all.

Speaking as the son of a resident - & appreciating that I have no experience of other care homes - I have found St James Court (SJC) to be an extremely pleasant place for my Mum to reside. The staff have been fantastic with my Dad & I, who have been supporting my Mum as she settles into a new way of
life. Whilst we are still finding our feet at SJC, I am more than comfortable with the early signs. Thank you to everyone who is caring for my Mum.

My father is thankfully not the person who left the hospital mid May. He is walking and mobile, no longer bedbound, he is eating, but refused to eat in hospital. He has found peace and contentment. This is all thanks to the staff who have nursed him, spent time with him and listened to him. They understand
him and his brain. Last Friday was his 94th birthday. The Royal and your lovely cook and staff provided a lovely birthday tea with a beautiful cake for him and our family of eight. Two days later, when I visited, he said, 'I am the happiest I have ever been in my life, happy as a lark'. What can I say, this is all thanks to you, amazing and a big thank you.
