My Mum absolutely loves it here. The staff are brilliant, so caring and look after the residents brilliantly. It's lovely to know that Mum is so well cared for, all staff go over and beyond in their caring, supporting roles. I know if I have any concerns they'd be listened to and acted upon. The

A charming place to live and visit with professional and friendly staff, who are genuine, invested and are dedicated to both the resident, family and friends well being. The hospitality, caring and housekeeping is of a high standard. The food is excellent. The facilities are comfortable and get a real
sence of being at home. The support from Management and staff is very positive. From a pastoral point of view there is a sence of positive support and recognition of individuality. The well being coordinators are doing a great job with a variety of activities.

Having viewed numerous facilities across the borough it was clear to us as a family that The Royal would be the right place for my wife's Mum.
On the first visit, the warmth of the staff was impressive. Having a social care background I was so impressed to see the manage with an open door policy and
staff wandering in and asking questions.
Since moving in the home has been spotlessly clean, tidy and you can see the hard work that goes into keeping the standard, but this does not interfere with the care that my mother in law receives.
The staff show kindness, empathy and respect my mother-in-laws choices and dignity. Manual handling is done with precision and in the safest manner. Food and nutrition is on point and all cooked on site. Personal care is delivered as required and again always protecting the privacy, dignity and respect.No-one wants to have a loved one in care but what I will say is when you have found the right placement like The Royal is for us. It makes it easier

My 3 week stay in the rehabilitation unit can only be described as perfect. The staff, the food, the care, have been of the finest quality, such a friendly relaxing caring environment in quite salubrious surroundings, one can only improve and get better. Highly recommend.

As soon as we walked in to our first visit at st James we felt a warmth of welcome from all the team, and we really felt we had found the right place for mum.
Tracy and the team could not have done more to welcome mum, support her in personalising her room, welcoming her to activities and recognising
and providing her preferences and care/medical needs in a joined up way.
They have answered all our questions and welcomed our visits.
We cannot recommend st James highly enough as a warm, caring and professional care home where we can relax knowing mum is in safe hands (and mum feels like she's on a five star holiday!)

My mum has been with Clarance House (through Alzheimers and Dementia) since March 2024. She has always appeared to us as healthy and well looked after. She always comments the staff are friendly, and nothing is too much trouble for them. She enjoys the food in the restraunt and has made some friends
through the interactive activities she plays with other residents driven by the staff. They also take them on occasion visits out, the latest been Cusworth Park for the day. The rooms are always clean and cleaning is on show daily, in fact it's hard to remember a single visit in which cleaning was not taking place. They have a hairdresser come into the home, which my mum loves, to allow her to still feel pride in her appearance. Honestly, for the money - it's incredible value compared to other homes at double the rate and above.
