Mum has been a resident here for almost four years and throughout that time she has been treated with kindness, dignity and genuine compassion. The staff are caring, attentive and always take the time to understand her needs. The management team are approachable and supportive, and communication with the family is excellent. Knowing Mum is safe, happy and so well looked after gives us tremendous peace of mind. We are extremely grateful to everyone at the home and would highly recommend it to other families.

Overall Experience
Originally we were only going to use Clarendon House for 2 weeks respite but due to health conditions changing quite quickly we soon had to look at full time residency.
Due to my dear friend being blind and having impaired hearing this was a huge change for her but it was something we needn't have worried about.
The staff took time and patience to learn the needs of my friend.
The room was adapted to ensure transfers were made safely for all involved.
The staff are kind, knowledgeable and very supportive whilst we were finding our feet and continue to be.
The food is absolutely delicious and my friend, now settled and relaxed, is eating 3 good meals a day.
Family and friends are always welcome and encouraged to par take in activities.

This is such a wonderful place for your loved ones. 100% would recommend

The care home has really helped Dad adapt to his new life. The team are warm, friendly and very caring. They work with every resident individually, but they always try to keep everyone entertained and looked after. The entertainments are varied and in just a few months Dad has been to Pantomime, a concert and there's even been wine tasting! Thank you to everyone!

My mother moved into Clarendon House at the end of September 2025 to be nearer to me and because she needed more care than in her own home and we have not been disappointed. The manager and assistant manager are caring, friendly and professional and the carers who look after my mother are kind, patient and knowledgeable. Other support staff, food, drinks and activities are thoughtful and kind. I cannot be more delighted with everything in this care home.

My brothers and I are very happy with the level of care being shown to our elderly mother after her recent fall, and neurological problems. Clarendon House also show this care to our father, who has Alzheimer's, and welcome him for lunch every day. Whilst it is very challenging having both parents with dementia/alzheimers, the staff make it an easier task, and visiting our parents can be more like visiting old friends at a lovely hotel. The staff are kind, efficient, and friendly. The Manager is a most reassuring constant for us, and we feel we can approach her about anything. There is a great variety of activities arranged every day for residents, and the catering facilities are fabulous - it is lovely to see both my parents enjoying the delicious food.

Having never had the need to find a nursing home, I was amazed at how wonderful Clarendon House is. My dad, sadly, wasn't there for long, but the relief he/we felt for him to be out of hospital and somewhere comfortable, safe and where he was treated with the utmost care and dignity was profound.
I know he was very much looking forward to going up onto the roof terrace for a nice cup of tea and a biscuit, a simple thing that he hadn't had the chance to do after being in hospital for three months, it was something the nurses knew would make him feel more at home and realise he still had the freedom to do whatever he wanted, he was in no way confined to a single room.
As you can tell, I would recommend Clarendon House in a heartbeat for anyone looking for first class care for their relative, whether it's for residential, nursing like dad required, or dementia.

Thank you to all the staff (and residents) for all their kindness, it was really appreciated.

Mum was in Clarendon for 16 months, having developed dementia Clarendon House was a fabulous place for her where she was looked after very caringly by the staff who made her transition from her own home to care home much easier. There were plenty of activities for her to get involved in and fabulous meals every day. In her last three months, Mum deteriorated and became bedbound and unable to feed herself. The patience and kindness shown to her right to the end by all the staff was second to none and equally they were great support to visiting family. More like a five-star hotel than a care home, with all the care as a bonus.

Clarendon House is to be highly recommended!
My uncle has been well looked after since his arrival. He is fed and watered throughout the day and receives his medication as required.

The music piped through into the communal lounge has been a real plus ensuring that he has a reason to get out of his room. The outside terraces have yet to be explored but will be a welcome beautiful in the summer months.

Clarendon House is an excellent care home. The home has been beautifully designed and furnished, but still feels like ‘a home’. From the moment we entered, we were made to feel welcome. The whole team, from office staff to carers are polite, friendly and caring and ready to respond to any questions and requirements. Bedrooms are spacious, communal areas tastefully decorated and comfortable. Everywhere is immaculately clean. The menus change daily, with an excellent choice of food, made with quality ingredients, but residents are also able to make any special requests. There is a daily activity programme and residents are encouraged to take part.

We cannot recommend Clarendon House highly enough. My mother stayed for 2 weeks for some respite care after a fall and the residential wing was perfect for her. We would like to thank all the staff at Clarendon for looking after her.
