Westroyd Care Home

I always find staff very welcoming when visiting.

We are very happy with the care my mother is continuing to receive at Westroyd House. She is happy and appreciative of everything that is done for her and we are pleased she continues to maintain her independence. She does enjoy her food. We are sure of a warm, friendly welcome from all the staff.

Very well run care home. The staff are efficient & very friendly. Mother very well looked after & gets on well with the staff. Food well prepared & good selection. The home is clean & tidy. Visits are easy to arrange.

My only gripe is the drive down to the home is in a dreadful condition.

Mum has been here for nearly three years and I can't imagine her being anywhere else. She is treated with respect and kindness every day and loves being here. She joins in with activities when she feels like it and is always ready for mealtimes! She usually has a big smile for everyone and enjoys chatting to staff and other residents alike.

As always, Dad is treated with respect and dignity and he is always clean and well presented. The staff are always polite and friendly when we visit dad and have a very good rapport with him. The food is always to a good standard.

My Dad was able to take a booking for a vacancy prior to it being needed it as he was in emergency care home, which was a big relief to me and my sister as this home is very close to our mum and dads house.. Since being at Westroyd he has settled in well with the help of Andrea and Sharon. They have, along with the rest of care team been very responsive to his needs especially with his mind state and his diabetes along with the maintenance gents who have put up bookcases and made his room more personal. It was nice to see all the different activities over the Christmas period which he participated in a lot of the singing. He is fed well and I have no concerns with his care going forward.

We find the home very friendly and welcoming; staff are always friendly with a. Smile. If we have a question they always try to find an answer. Mum mostly is in a good mood only occasionally is a bit down but this is due to her condition rather then anything else. Over all we are very happy with everything thanks.

Since my dad moved into Westroyd at the beginning of December as a family, we have been more than happy with the care he has received. The staff are all very welcoming when visiting, and nothing is too much trouble. My dad seems to have settled in very well and is happy, which is all we can ask for.

I visit several times during the week, the team are always welcoming and friendly and there is always someone to speak to. Mum is happy and settled with a comfortable and spacious bedroom. She is patiently & respectfully supported because all the team take the time to know and understand the residents, allowing them to tailor individual needs. I am very happy that Mum is getting the best care. Visiting hours are very flexible and i am always greeted with a cheery welcome. It really is a home not just a residence.

I would like to thank Westroyd from the bottom of my heart for the care they gave my Grandma. Sadly Grandma didn't get much time to create many memories here. But in the time spent at Westroyd she was shown nothing but love, dignity, care and respect. The home has a very special team who genuinely care about all the residents and my Grandma was cared for from her first day to her last.

I am always greeted with a lovely smile. The staff are kind and caring, but as I can only visit once a week and always mid-morning, I have no idea about activities or facilities.

Our experience of Westroyds has been absolutely fantastic. The care and support given to the residents and to their families is above and beyond. They have helped and supported us through a very traumatic time and helped to alleviate our worries and concerns. We love the feel to the place the moment you walk through the door as it is extremely cheerful, bright, great music and a warm greeting. They get to know the people they are looking after and share any concerns with the residents families. The management is superb and we couldn't wish for a better place to look after our brother/ brother in law.

My dad went into Westroyd in December. I cannot fault the staff. Dad could be challenging but the care and compassion given to him was second to none. He was always clean and well fed. All of the staff treated him with the utmost respect and engaged with him all the time. 10 out of 10. Unfortunately my dad passed away on Sunday surrounded by staff who made his last few days comfortable and gave him dignity in death. Highly recommend Westroyd. Thanks all.

Dad has continued to receive the high level of care and respect from the staff, which has been unwavering since his first day. The staff always have a friendly smile when visiting. The food continues to be of a high standard and with a varied menu each week.

Dad is settling in well, he still misses his own home but the staff have made him feel very welcome. His needs are well taken care of in a professional and understand way. Dad says he likes his room and the food is lovely. We've not seen dad eat so much in a long time. It's early days as dad has only been a resident for two weeks but at this moment in time this was the right decision for dad and the family

The care that my Mum receives is excellent, and nothing is too much trouble. All the staff at Westroyd are kind and caring. I visit several times during the week, and they are always welcoming and friendly. I am very happy that Mum is getting the very best care.

I'd like to thank all the staff for looking after mum. They do a great job in looking after my mum in lots of ways. If my mum is unwell at anytime they call a doctor to visit which then I know they are really looking after her.Nothing is to much trouble.

Dad looked very well when we visited him. The staff are very friendly and nothing is ever too much for them. The manager always has her door open and I always pop by to say hello and ask how my dad has been. They are like one big family at Westroyd Care Home.

As reported previously the driveway down to the building is full of pot holes (when in contact with the managed we are told that this is reported regularly, obviously action being taken)
