Westroyd Care Home is a well-established Care Home. It is surrounded by the community. They offer 24-hour personalised care and support for residents with residential and dementia needs.

There are 31 bedrooms, with all having en-suite facilities. Although the bedrooms are furnished to a good standard, the team do encourage residents to bring in their own items to give a feeling of home. There is a well-established furnished lounge, that boast large flat screen TV and a variety of chairs to accommodate Residents' seating preference. Westroyd House has one dining room with facilities accessible to visitors and families for refreshments, a varied menu is provided and Residents are able to eat in their own rooms if preferred. Activity Coordinators are able to deliver a programme that is created for the enjoyment of the residents, they deliver music and activities from the community, who love to entertain residents. Westroyd House has a secluded, secure, well-used patio area and garden at the rear of the building where Residents enjoy potting plants or even enjoying the occasional sunshine! The team encourage residents to participate in gardening activities if this is their passion.

The home is close to the town centre so residents are able to access the shops and coffee shops, independently or with family.
Facilities at Westroyd also include salon which will offer residents manicures, pedicures, plus a hair salon for those who enjoy a weekly pick me up. An experienced hair stylist is able to offer a variety of services to cater for everyone’s needs.

My mother has been in Westroyd for 6 months now and has flourished since she moved there. The care she gets is excellent and she is well fed and looked after, she is very settled and happy. The staff are great, really caring and nothing is too much trouble. Wouldn’t want my mum anywhere else.

Mum was sent to Westroyd House for rehabilitation from hospital and although initially, we were not happy with the travelling distance from our home in the south of the country, we cannot be more pleased with the care she is receiving. Having not eaten much or liking the food when in hospital, she now
tells me we had a “lovely dinner” but doesn’t remember what it was! Although I worry about Mum, as she has always lived independently at home until five weeks ago, the staff are so kind and reassuring.

The staff are friendly and courteous. They are kind and respectful to the residents. When visiting the home it always appears to be clean and fresh. As far as I am aware the residents are well supported with their personal cleanliness and hygiene. The resident that I visit is always clean, well-fed

Each time I have visited my son, I have been warmly welcomed by all the members of staff- who have always been attentive, pleasant and helpful. This is so important and reassuring, especially as these occasions can sometimes be emotional- it means a great deal! Carry on the good work!

It is early days yet. But my husband seems to have settled in well. The staff are welcoming, friendly and seems to have gained an understanding of my husband's needs quickly and effectively. He remains calm and relaxed which is a good sign. Activities are understandably limited due to covid, but the

My mum has been here for 4 years. This last year I have been ill and with Covid not able to visit very often. I am confident that my mum isbeing well cared for and I am constantly informed if anything is amiss. The staff are prompt in calling the doctor. Despite being 100, my mum us washed and dressed
every day. She has severe dementia but I can see she is happy there thanks to the wonderful, caring staff.

My dad came to you after suffering a bad fall and was unable to look after himself in any way. He had always said that he didn't want to "end up" in a care home.
After only one week, he became a very happy and contented man. He was very well cared for, and I will always be grateful for that. He couldn't

The staff at the lodge have been incredible to mum. During the lockdown, my mum has had episodes of being quite poorly, resulting in prompt action by the care team. We are always kept well informed should any problems arise, they are an amazing team, and should be very proud of themselves.

I am really pleased about my Mum's care at Westroyd. Mum suffers from severe dementia, but nothing is too much trouble for the carers to do for her. All of the carers are friendly and helpful, and all interact with her and try to stimulate and encourage her to take part in lots of activities. The cleanliness
standards in the facility are excellent. All of the meals that I have seen are well prepared and presented, and Mum really enjoys them.
In comparison with other facilities that I have witnessed personally, I would say that Westroyd gets 10 out of 10!

My husband is treated with dignity and respect by all members of the team. He is very happy at Westroyd and I have peace of mind knowing he is so well cared for. My family and I are always made to feel welcome when we visit and during the COVID-19 lockdown, we have been able to call and check on him

Overall I am happy with the care package that my Nana receives at Westroyd. The only thing I would like to see more of is a wider variety of activities and group days out to somewhere that all the residents can socialise outside of the home.

Not enough staff. This is a common problem as there were only two staff members when I visited the other day. There is not enough for residents to do. TV and CD player blasting out at the opposite ends of the same room. Not seen any activities being done. The whole place is shoddy, dirty flooring and
equipment, curtains hanging off. Carers are mainly good with residents but none have enough time.

Provides our mum with the care she needs warm comfy and pleasant surroundings.
The staff are friendly and helpful. Mu seems content. Activities now starting again. Looking forward to the new bathrooms and hall carpets, lighting outside all in the pipeline to be done.

My cousin has only been a resident here for a few weeks but he has settled in well and the staff have been very accommodating and helpful. We had a few teething problems but that was while the staff were getting to know him and while he was getting used to them. All of my requests have been dealt with
and resolved. The home is clean and the staff are friendly. Due to its size and the number of residents, it feels more homely and personal.
