My dad was here for rehabilitation after a stroke, the staff were brilliant, the food fabulous in fact I joined him for lunch a couple of times.
The activities were varied and frequent when and if he could be bothered to take part.
My mum joined him for respite whilst we were away on holiday and she was happy enough but obviously wanted to be at home.
Both were cared for extremely well.
We started as visitors but now feel like family and miss going in to see staff and residents as my parents are now home.
Would definitely use Holyrood again if needed for respite or more permanent if the time arrives.

Thank you to all the staff that work very hard in a challenging environment, but do so with a smile on their faces.

I cannot speak highly enough of the care provided by this home. From the very beginning, every member of staff showed genuine compassion, kindness, and professionalism. The level of care was truly exceptional, and it was clear that the wellbeing and dignity of residents were always the top priority.

Communication throughout was excellent. Staff kept us informed, listened with empathy, and always made time to answer questions or offer reassurance. This meant so much to us as a family.

In the final stages, when care mattered most, the team went above and beyond to ensure comfort, dignity, and respect at end of life. Their compassion and sensitivity during such a difficult time will never be forgotten.

We are incredibly grateful to every member of the team and cannot thank them enough for the care and support they provided.

I can highly recommend Holyrood House for the dedicated care they gave to my father in his final weeks of life. The staff are skilled, professional and friendly in sometimes challenging situations. Their patience and understanding of individual needs is exceptional and at the very end they were supportive of the family too. Communication was regular as the situation changed and this enabled us to sit with Dad in his final hours. Our thanks go out to everyone involved in his admission and care.

I would like to sincerely thank ALL staff for making my stepmothers stay a very pleasant experience. I cannot believe the difference in her mental health and wellbeing, if feels like we have my old stepmother back as she was before. The last two years has been extremely difficult for the family and my 92 year old father to see her deteriorate. She was admitted two weeks ago as a result of my father having a fall and breaking his hip, needing surgery and hospitalization. We are hoping dad can join mum soon and I an 100% confidence in the staff in caring for them both going forward. Taking my mum in has given the whole family relief in knowing she is being cared for so well and has allowed us to concentrate on dad while in the hospital.

I have nothing but praise for ALL the staff and hope that if ever I am in need of care then I would love to be in Holyrood House without any doubt.

WELL DONE TO ALL STAFF - WE AS A FAMILY LOVE YOU ALL VERY MUCH IN MAKING US PART OF YOUR FAMILY.

I have nothing but praise for this care home. All the staff are really caring and helpful. I have cared for my friend for the last 8 years, as I promised her I would not put her in a care home, as you hear so many stories; however, how wrong I was Holyrood House is a beautiful home and the staff make it wonderful, you are never made to feel like a burden when you ask the same questions over again. I hope that when I'm older, I can be looked after at Holyrood House.

My mum came to Holyrood House after several weeks in hospital. She was poorly throughout her stay, often agitated and regularly falling. The staff on the 1st floor were patient and kind towards her without exception. After a very short time it felt like the staff knew my mum and they seemed to like her and they understood her needs. They adapted her bed and room to ensure she was safe and comfortable. When she was at the stage of end of life care they were very attentive and sensitive. The staff at Holyrood are heroes to me and should be paid a professional salary that acknowledges their skills in managing the complex needs of the elderly, sick and dying.
