My wife and I came over from Jersey to visit my sister. She seems to be very relaxed and cheerful. The staff were excellent they were very polite and helpful and they made us feel very welcome. We took my sister to the grounds around the garden it was lovely. My wife and I can go back to Jersey knowing
that my sister is getting the best care possible. Thank you all. Keep up the great work.

A pleasant caring community that in general meets Mum's needs. Obviously, 100% care cannot be given at all times but generally satisfactory. It is understood that staffing is a problem and I do have some concerns over the suitability of some of the carers. Mum has at times told individuals of her needs
but these are sometimes ignored. This leads her to be upset at times. However still satisfied.

The care home is an excellent place for my sister-in-law. I can tell on each visit that she is very well cared for. The staff are very helpful, kind, and considerate towards both patients and visitors. I think that on the whole, it suits everybody very well.

I cannot fault any of the staff. They do as much as possible in the time they have. I would say some temp/agency staff require more training as regular staff have to work harder to keep on top of things. All in all my dad is happy at Holyrood. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank all

Overall satisfied with service, however more staff required on shift as buzzers not always answered quickly enough causing incontinence at times.
Staff are very friendly, caring and compassionate.

Holyrood House offers bespoke care for people suffering from dementia. First impressions upon arrival are important, so I was pleased to note that the home is modern, clean, very spacious and situated in a relatively quiet and respectable area. They offer decent-sized bedrooms with ensuite facilities.
The staff are very professional and friendly. There is a new menu each day with alternative meals and choices. Each floor has it's own, separate, well-run kitchen area and seating area, As well as a designated TV lounge, there are also rooms where residents can enjoy peace and quiet.
It comforts me to know that my wife is being properly looked after by well-trained staff.

My mum was in the Holyrood from November 2023. The care she received was exceptional. They couldn't do enough for her. She was happy while she was there and at the end they were very professional and sympathetic. We always felt that she was really cared for and nothing was too much trouble for the staff.
We would like to thank all the staff and admin people for their caring ways and the help they provided us with while my mum was there.

From the first time I stepped into the home, I was happy to have my dad come and stay. The staff are always helpful and friendly and will go over and beyond to make you feel comfortable.

We sadly lost my father-in-law this week, after he had spent over two years living at Holyrood. We cannot express our thanks enough for the excellent care and support he received. He always said how much he loved living there and called it his five star, all inclusive home. All of the staff have been
brilliant during this time but especially the carer who always went that “extra mile” to help not only Dad but all the family.
We have always felt that Dad was truly cared for in a safe and supportive environment.

Good clean nursing home, my mother loves it here, always something to do different things nearly every day for the residents. Can't fault it. The food is excellent. Very friendly staff and management. Plenty of parking.

My dad's well-being since living at Holyrood has improved massively. He is well cared for and he is safe. Lovely environment and staff. Very warm and welcoming home. My dad loves his self-contained room with all his personal things. It is his home now and knowing there is always someone there for his

The realisation that a loved one needs to be cared for by others is difficult to comprehend. Especially when you know it's for the last few weeks of their life. Handing them over to people who are, in essence, strangers comes with worry and suspicion. Asking yourself 'will they take time to get to know
her', 'will they treat her with the dignity and respect she deserves', 'will they give her their time, because they want to not because they have to' and 'do they actually care' (to name a few).
Well, myself and my family all agree that the answer to those questions is a resounding 'yes they will, and yes they do'. For the time my grandmother was in their care everyone at Holyrood showed her more than just care, they showed her unresounding love and respect, and not just her but all my family too. I cannot thank Holyrood enough for how they treated my grandmother, it's a great comfort to know that her last few days were spent in a place full of thoughtfulness, warmth and love. Thank you.

The home was clean, good choice of food, well laid out dining area. The activity plan is excellent. Residents asked what they wanted to do. All carers are very caring and loving to all. They try their best but sometimes the bell rings for a long time before someone comes to check. We were welcomed at
every visit by lovely staff who took the time to talk to us. Nothing was too much trouble. Overall a home that really cares. Thank you to all for the love and kindness you gave to my mum. All have a Merry Xmas and a Happy New Year.

Lost mum in october 2023 after spending time in Holyrood House she loved it there in her room where she sat and watched the many birds in her little garden. Many thanks to all staff for her care. She made quite a few friends and really enjoyed talking to her many visitors whilst she resided in Holyrood

On the recent death of my father in the home, the staff could not have been kinder or more supportive of my mother (92) (who is also a resident) especially when 2 days later she was diagnosed with dementia.

I have worked in Holyrood House for 9 years, throughout my time here I have had a number of roles progressing from a Team Leader to my current role of Deputy Manager, working alongside the Home Manager to lead and support the team. Crown Care have given me the opportunities to progress further within my career.


Holyrood is one of the best teams I have worked for within the care sector, every member of staff genuinely cares and strives to deliver a high standard of care for each resident. There is also a great support network within the team, there is always a laugh to be had and ear for listening. It is a pleasure to be a part of team Holyrood!

Hi I am Gill, the Business Administrator at Holyrood House. I have 35 years of admin experience mainly in the Education Sector where I worked as Office Manager before becoming a Business Manager. I left Education to move into an extremely niche role within the Wakefield’s Safeguarding Adults Board where I was first introduced to Adult Social Care. I loved working within this sector and was then offered the position at Holyrood House. I enjoy the variety of the role with each day been totally different, I particularly enjoy meeting the families and trying to make their decision of moving a loved one into care as seamless as possible. I enjoy interaction with the residents having chance to put a smile of their faces is priceless and so rewarding. The staff team are like one huge family and we love working as a team always ensuring our residents have enjoyment during their time at Holyrood House.
