This care home is the equivalent of a four star hotel. The rooms are beautiful and always cleaned to the highest standard. The nursing care is exemplary and the NHS could pick up a few pointers. But most of all they are a family to my relative. I leave him here knowing he is safe well looked after and
happy.

My mum has been a resident on the nursing unit since March 2017 and the care and love she receives on a daily basis is fantastic, all the staff are welcoming, and the care my mum receives is 5*. I don't worry about her anymore like I did when she lived in the bungalow. Every time I visit her she smiles
and looks well cared for, I would definitely recommend Holyrood House to anyone who is looking for a home for themselves or a relative.

My mum has been in Holyrood House for nearly a year and I often visit without any notice required. I have every confidence that my mum is being well looked after, and that the staff and management are caring and professional.

My mum became a resident in Holyrood House on the nursing unit in October 2016. From day one the care my mum received was caring, genuine and professional. All the staff I came into contact with were kind and informative, all the information we needed was entered into a personal folder in mum's room,
ie personal hygiene, meals and nutrition etc...
Sadly mum passed away in the care home in December 2016 and we, as a family, cannot commend enough the staff and environment in which my mother spent her last days. The staff were supportive but not intrusive and gave mum first class care until she passed away.


I would not hesitate to recommend your care home and would give 5* for our experience. Thank you.

My mum was on the nursing floor from August 2016 to December 2016. I cannot fault anything about the care and love she received before she sadly passed away in Dec 2016, she absolutely loved her time there and called all the staff her little lasses, thank you for making her last few moths so happy and
relaxed and for looking so well after her. x

Staff are courteous and conscientious. Food is reasonable varied, quality good. Facilities are good. Premises are well appointed and clean. Varied activities are available, encouraged but not forced. Security is adequate.

My father has been a resident for just over a year and being a dementia patient he is looked after well by all the staff who have time for everybody. I am very satisfied with the care he receives and would recommend the house completely.

The care home is excellent with a pleasant decor and soft furnishings. The meals, (of which I had2 during my fathers stay) were exceptionally good. all staff from the manager and deputy manager down to the care and cleaning staff were kind to my father. Very friendly and helpful.

My mother came to Holyrood approximately two months ago, after a respite stay of 3 weeks. It was totally her decision to move in permanently.
We visited mum at the end of November, she is happy, content, safe, and occupied. What more can you ask.
The home is a lovely, safe, comfortable and friendly
home, as we have travelled from Cornwall where we live we were made to feel that mum was loved by everyone we met. So pleased with every aspect, living so far away it makes me feel mum is safe and happy. Thank you all.

I have worked in Holyrood House for 9 years, throughout my time here I have had a number of roles progressing from a Team Leader to my current role of Deputy Manager, working alongside the Home Manager to lead and support the team. Crown Care have given me the opportunities to progress further within my career.


Holyrood is one of the best teams I have worked for within the care sector, every member of staff genuinely cares and strives to deliver a high standard of care for each resident. There is also a great support network within the team, there is always a laugh to be had and ear for listening. It is a pleasure to be a part of team Holyrood!

Hi I am Gill, the Business Administrator at Holyrood House. I have 35 years of admin experience mainly in the Education Sector where I worked as Office Manager before becoming a Business Manager. I left Education to move into an extremely niche role within the Wakefield’s Safeguarding Adults Board where I was first introduced to Adult Social Care. I loved working within this sector and was then offered the position at Holyrood House. I enjoy the variety of the role with each day been totally different, I particularly enjoy meeting the families and trying to make their decision of moving a loved one into care as seamless as possible. I enjoy interaction with the residents having chance to put a smile of their faces is priceless and so rewarding. The staff team are like one huge family and we love working as a team always ensuring our residents have enjoyment during their time at Holyrood House.
