My mother is in the care of this staff team and can not sing their praises enough! They are extremely attentive and nothing is too much trouble. We were hesitant to let her go into care at first but our reluctance was eased by meeting with the management who put our fears to bed.

My grandma has resided at Holyrood for the last 2 1/2 years. As a family, we were reluctant to make this move as we have always cared for my grandma.
Although some days granny wants to be at home she loves it especially the staff as they are all brilliant and work hard to provide the care, love and
support that she needs. Some staff even bring her tomatoes which she always has to have tomatoes in her fridge and for this, I am truly great full to them.
As a family member having to choose a home for your parent/grandparent is hard, however, we feel we have made the right choice for her.
I would also like to mention that the activity ladies are amazing and are always going into my grandma's room to encourage her to come out and join in the activities that they do every day but she does not like to so a staff member will come and sit with her and give her some one-to-one time where they just natter about anything.
I would like to say a massive thank you to all who work at Holyrood.

I would like to thank all the team on the nursing unit at Holyrood House for the loving care and support that they gave my mum at the end of her life. She was only at the care home for a short period of time, but all the staff were amazing, including the administrative and management team. Not only
did they care for my mum with love, care and compassion but were also so kind and supportive to me and my family in the difficult few days prior to my mum passing away.

My mum moved into Holyrood House just over 2 years ago. This was a difficult time for her and I was extremely impressed by the level of support and care shown, in helping her settle into the home.
This past year has been especially challenging since the Covid 19 restrictions were introduced. The home
have had a difficult task in balancing residents' safety with family visits. However, the home have been extremely professional and flexible in facilitating visits - from window visits to the new 'visiting pod'. The pod, which has been so thoughtfully designed, allows a 'nearly normal' visit to take place and has made such a difference.
At all times, staff keep me informed of any changes to Mum's physical and mental health and when needed, the staff are always there to support me too - thank you!
I would highly recommend Holyrood House to anyone considering care home options.

The carers within Holyrood are amazing, they are considerate, thoughtful, empathetic, understanding and wonderful at their jobs. They regularly go over and above their normal duties without a second thought. They always have the best interests of their residents at the heart of their service, they endeavour
to notify family as much as they can and keep them up to date.
They have all treated my parents with the utmost respect and dignity even in these very difficult times. They have contacted me and my sister at times when their work day has finished to ensure that we know the outcome of some issues. This respect and level of service is very rare in the world and Crown Care should be thankful that they are working for them.
My concerns sit with the management and the instructions that come from them. They seem to keep themselves very distant from the day to day running and whilst they are involved with the residents it is kept to a minimum.

My father-in-law was a resident at Holyrood House from June to September 2020.
Although he was adamant he would never go into a care home, at 92 he had to accept the inevitable. He couldn’t praise the staff enough and said nothing was too much trouble.
His most frequent word was it’s fantastic!
He said the meals and snacks were excellent.
He was only a resident at Holyrood House for the last 3 months of his life but we were so pleased that these were happy months. Thank you to all the staff who made my father-in-law's stay a pleasant one.

My Nan has been in their care since last August after being very poorly and no longer able to stay in her home. From the very first visit and onwards the love and care these ladies have shown my Nan is unbelievable, they are a fantastic team who go above and beyond for their residents. My Nan is loving
living there; she calls her room her flat, the care home is immaculately clean and decorated to the highest standard. I would highly recommend this care home as the quality of care is outstanding along with the social interaction.

This has been a challenging time for residents, staff and families but Holyrood has stood up to the challenge. I know that my mum is well cared for at this time when we cannot go visit. They contact families, put lovely pictures online and are only too happy to answer any questions when I call. Their
care and commitment are fantastic!!

From the first one to one at my parent's home to consistently every day, the staff have been kind, considerate and understanding. The girls on the first floor especially, even under difficult situations, as Dad can be challenging, are always calm, considerate, very professional and understanding. The
activities are inclusive to whatever level my parents want to partake and fun and laughter are always there too. They have made an incredibly difficult time a lot more bearable.

My mother has been in Holyrood House for over three years. In that time, she has been very happy and very well cared for. Staff are kind, caring, knowledgeable and respectful.
Any medical concerns are immediately identified by staff and acted on, staff are interested in residents as individuals and
take time to know what residents like.
Staff have been consistent in the three years, and this helps with continuity of care. Would highly recommend and already have.

I could not have found a better home for my husband other than our own home. The staff take care of him very well. It is like a second home to me and I would recommend it to anyone who needs a place for their loved ones.

My nanna came into this care home to live in December 2018 after being here for weekends before this. The care home is very clean and beautifully decorated, lovely friendly staff always happy to help. Plenty of activities for residents and people visiting, my nanna is very happy here.

Since leaving college I have always worked within the care sector. I have worked in Holyrood House for 9 years, throughout my time here I have had a number of roles progressing from a Team Leader to my current role of Deputy Manager, working alongside the Home Manager to lead and support the team. Crown Care have given me the opportunities to progress further within my career.


Holyrood is one of the best teams I have worked for within the care sector, every member of staff genuinely cares and strives to deliver a high standard of care for each resident. There is also a great support network within the team, there is always a laugh to be had and ear for listening. It is a pleasure to be a part of team Holyrood!

Hi I am Gill, the Business Administrator at Holyrood House. I have 35 years of admin experience mainly in the Education Sector where I worked as Office Manager before becoming a Business Manager. I left Education to move into an extremely niche role within the Wakefield’s Safeguarding Adults Board where I was first introduced to Adult Social Care. I loved working within this sector and was then offered the position at Holyrood House. I enjoy the variety of the role with each day been totally different, I particularly enjoy meeting the families and trying to make their decision of moving a loved one into care as seamless as possible. I enjoy interaction with the residents having chance to put a smile of their faces is priceless and so rewarding. The staff team are like one huge family and we love working as a team always ensuring our residents have enjoyment during their time at Holyrood House.

Hello my name is Tracey Trickey, I am Catering Manager here at holyrood House. I have worked here 8+ years and started as an assistant on part time hours when I joined team Holyrood and rather quickly ended up cooking and just loved it. I still to this day, more than ever, absolutely love my job. I enjoy most of all feeding our lovely residents some delicious foods. My role is a bit of everything where catering and food is concerned here. From ordering all foods to menu choices to and keeping my amazing team doing their job to the highest standards to maintain our 5* rating. We love making the residents happy after a good meal and some sweet delights.

Hello my name is Rob. I have worked in the Care sector for 11 years as a maintenance operative, and worked at Holyrood House since March 2022. My job is to ensure that we provide a safe and comfortable environment for our residents, staff, and visitors. Getting to know residents and family helps me to understand any specific requirements that the resident or family may have. Making people feel comfortable at home and safe is the main objective for me.
