Upon leaving school I immediately started my career in care. I have been a registered manager in a number of care establishments for the past 27 years. I love my job as I have always enjoyed meeting people and helping others. In my spare time I enjoy following my football team Barnsley FC and supporting guide dogs for the blind.
Since leaving college I have always worked within the care sector. I have worked in Holyrood House for 9 years, throughout my time here I have had a number of roles progressing from a Team Leader to my current role of Deputy Manager, working alongside the Home Manager to lead and support the team. Holyrood is one of the best teams I have worked for within the care sector, every member of staff genuinely cares and strives to deliver a high standard of care for each resident. There is also a great support network within the team, there is always a laugh to be had and ear for listening. It is a pleasure to be a part of team Holyrood!
Hi I am Gill, the Business Administrator at Holyrood House. I have 35 years of admin experience mainly in the Education Sector where I worked as Office Manager before becoming a Business Manager. I left Education to move into an extremely niche role within the Wakefield’s Safeguarding Adults Board where I was first introduced to Adult Social Care. I loved working within this sector and was then offered the position at Holyrood House. I enjoy the variety of the role with each day been totally different, I particularly enjoy meeting the families and trying to make their decision of moving a loved one into care as seamless as possible. I enjoy interaction with the residents having chance to put a smile of their faces is priceless and so rewarding. The staff team are like one huge family and we love working as a team always ensuring our residents have enjoyment during their time at Holyrood House.

I really enjoy working at Holyrood and love the team I work with. I have worked in care homes from the age of 18 which is just over 12 years. I have been part of Holyrood houses team since august 2018. Working at Holyrood for so many years has expanded my learning skills and knowledge from starting as a care assistant to a senior then to now being a unit manager! I love looking after our wonderful residents and having such a fantastic group of people to work with.
I have been part of the team at Holyrood House, since 2016. I was encouraged to further my development early into my career gaining level 2 NVQ in adult social care and then onto my Level 3 diploma. I started as a care assistant progressing to senior and now my current role of unit manager on our dementia care unit - I love what I do and could not see myself doing any other job, it is so rewarding - we have a fantastic team.

My name is Vinoda Nadungodage, and I bring nearly two years of experience in the care sector. I have successfully worked as a care assistant in a care home and as a community carer. Since 2024, I have been proud to be a part of the team at Holyrood House, where I thrive in contributing to our mission of providing exceptional care as a senior carer. Having worked in the care sector for a short period, I initially felt some nerves about joining a larger team at Holyrood House. However, I was warmly welcomed by everyone, who wholeheartedly cared about one other as well as the residents. I feel both supported and appreciated in this environment. I am committed to delivering the highest standard of person-centred care that Holyrood House enables. It is a pleasure to work alongside such dedicated professionals. The Holyrood House is an exquisite residence with elegant and cosy amenities, which renders it an excellent place to work.
