We are looking for a passionate and compassionate Health Care Assistant to join our team at Austenwood Care Home. As a Health Care Assistant you will be integral in supporting our residents with their daily living activities, providing personal care, and ensuring their comfort and well-being. You will work closely with a supportive team to create a positive and nurturing environment for the residents, assisting them to maintain their independence, dignity, and quailty of life.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide personal care and assistance to residents with activities of daily living, suc as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
Support residents with mobility, including the use of equipment where necessary.
Assist with feeding and hydration, ensuring residents' nutritional needs are met.
Monitor and record residents' health, well-being, and behaviour, reporting any changes to senior staff.
Ensure the comfort, safety, and dignity of residents at all times.
Establish strong relationships with residents, providing emotional and social support.
Assist in the implementation of individual care plans and ensure they are followed.
Promote a person-centred approach to care, respecting the preferences and choices of each resident.
Help with light housekeeping duties, such as making beds, tidying rooms, and ensuring the care environment is clean and comfortable.
Be responsive to emergency situations and follow the home's protocols in those instances.
Skills / Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a care or healthcare role is desirable
- but not essential.
