Goldsborough Manor, is a Luxurious Care Home situated in the quiet village location of Strensall, York.

You will ideally have experience within a care home setting and be confident around service users with dementia,

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Domestic /Laundry Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and presentation of linens, towels, and other laundry items within our establishment. This position is essential to ensuring that our residents enjoy a comfortable and pleasant experience during their stay.

Responsibilities

  • Sort, wash, dry, fold, and iron laundry items according to established procedures.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the laundry area, ensuring all equipment is in good working order.
  • Monitor laundry supplies and report any shortages to housekeeper promptly.
  • Operate washing machines, dryers, and other laundry equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Follow health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
  • At all times to maintain effective communication and liaison with the Crown Care Group home manager, deputy manager, registered nurse and senior carer to ensure the smooth, safe, effective, responsive and cleaning operation of the home.
  • To promote and display a professional image commensurate with the high standards of the Crown Care Group.
  • To take responsibility for the high standards of cleanliness across all areas of the home.
  • In conjunction with the wider care team to adhere to the home’s philosophies and goals and statement of purpose.

Requirements

  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Physical stamina to handle repetitive tasks and lift heavy loads when necessary.
  • Good communication skills and a friendly attitude towards guests and colleagues.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays if required.
