About the role
As our Maintenance/Gardener, you’ll be responsible for all repairs and maintenance across our home. You’ll walk the home daily to pro-actively identify any areas that need attention, whilst also conducting regular safety checks on various equipment. You’ll create a maintenance programme for the home alongside our Home Manager. You'll also will maintain our lovely garden area by managing and developing our garden areas and ordering gardening supplies when needed and of course you’ll interact with our residents on a daily basis - so you’ll be friendly, caring and kind whilst respecting our residents’ dignity at all times
Here’s some other important things you need to know:
- You will need to be experienced at painting and decorating. Having electrical and plumbing skills would be beneficial but not essential
- You will need to demonstrate that you have excellent knowledge of Health and Safety, COSHH, Fire Safety and Food Safety
- You will keep up to date and accurate records of all checks and repairs completed and scheduled
- Know how to develop garden areas, including digging, forking, watering, raking, weeding, edging, pruning, and planting
- Knowledge of how to use hand gardening tools
