Job summary

To provide high-quality, person-centred care and support to residents, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social needs are met. Bank Care Assistants work flexibly to cover shifts as required and maintain a safe, comfortable, and dignified environment for all residents.

Key Responsibilities

Personal Care & Support

  • Assist residents with daily living activities, including washing, dressing, toileting, and eating.

  • Support residents with mobility, including safe use of hoists and other equipment.

  • Promote residents’ independence, dignity, and choice at all times.

Emotional & Social Support

  • Build positive, professional relationships with residents and their families.

  • Encourage participation in social activities and promote wellbeing.

  • Provide companionship and emotional reassurance.

Health & Safety

  • Monitor residents’ physical and emotional wellbeing and report any concerns.

  • Follow care plans, risk assessments, and medication guidelines (where trained).

  • Ensure a clean, safe, and comfortable environment.

Record Keeping

  • Accurately complete daily care records and report changes in residents’ needs.

  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with data protection standards.

Teamwork & Professional Standards

  • Work effectively as part of a team and support colleagues during shifts.

  • Adhere to all company policies, safeguarding procedures, and CQC standards.

  • Attend mandatory training and updates as required.

Person Specification

Essential

  • A caring, compassionate, and reliable approach.

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and nights.

  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professional boundaries.

Desirable

  • Experience in a care or healthcare setting.

  • NVQ/QCF Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or willingness to work towards).

  • Knowledge of safeguarding, manual handling, and infection control.
