Job summary
To provide high-quality, person-centred care and support to residents, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social needs are met. Bank Care Assistants work flexibly to cover shifts as required and maintain a safe, comfortable, and dignified environment for all residents.
Key Responsibilities
Personal Care & Support

Assist residents with daily living activities, including washing, dressing, toileting, and eating.

Support residents with mobility, including safe use of hoists and other equipment.

Promote residents’ independence, dignity, and choice at all times.
Emotional & Social Support

Build positive, professional relationships with residents and their families.

Encourage participation in social activities and promote wellbeing.

Provide companionship and emotional reassurance.
Health & Safety
-
Monitor residents’ physical and emotional wellbeing and report any concerns.

Follow care plans, risk assessments, and medication guidelines (where trained).

Ensure a clean, safe, and comfortable environment.
Record Keeping

Accurately complete daily care records and report changes in residents’ needs.

Maintain confidentiality and comply with data protection standards.
Teamwork & Professional Standards

Work effectively as part of a team and support colleagues during shifts.

Adhere to all company policies, safeguarding procedures, and CQC standards.

Attend mandatory training and updates as required.
Person Specification
Essential

A caring, compassionate, and reliable approach.

Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and nights.

Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professional boundaries.
Desirable

Experience in a care or healthcare setting.

NVQ/QCF Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or willingness to work towards).

Knowledge of safeguarding, manual handling, and infection control.
