Bank Care Assistant

Job summary

As a Bank Care Assistant, you will provide essential support to residents and the wider care team by covering shifts on an as-needed basis. You will play a key role in supporting residents with all aspects of their daily lives, ensuring they receive safe, respectful and person-centred care tailored to their individual needs. This flexible role is ideal for someone who values variety and wants to work shifts that fit around other commitments.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing personal care such as washing, bathing, dressing, toileting and continence support

• Assisting residents with mobility, transfers and the use of equipment such as hoists and slide sheets

• Supporting residents at mealtimes, including preparing snacks and monitoring dietary needs

• Providing meaningful companionship and emotional support

• Encouraging residents to take part in daily activities, exercise and social events

• Observing and reporting changes in residents health, wellbeing and behaviour

• Maintaining accurate daily care notes, incident logs and handover information

• Following all Safeguarding, Infection Control and Health & Safety policies

• Working collaboratively with colleagues, families, visiting professionals and management

• Upholding dignity, independenc and choice in every interaction

• Flexibility to work a range of shifts as required, including weekends

• Shift patterns are from 8am to 2pm, 2pm to 8pm, 8am to 8pm and 8pm to 8am

Desirable:

• Previous experience in a care or support role

• NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Health & Social Care

• Knowledge of Elderly and Dementia Care
