The home features 39 bedrooms spread across the ground and first floors, including several larger rooms, two of which are ideal for couples. A lift provides easy access to the first floor, and every bedroom includes its own ensuite facilities for comfort and privacy.
Communal spaces are thoughtfully designed. The ground floor houses a spacious lounge-dining area adjacent to the kitchen, creating a vibrant hub for daily life. In addition, two smaller lounge areas offer peaceful spaces for private visits, relaxation, or participation in activities. Residents also have access to a private physiotherapist (available to book), as well as visits from a local chiropodist and hairdresser.
A fully equipped laundry facility on the ground floor provides personal and household laundry services for all residents. The home also boasts a large, wheelchair-accessible garden, which can be reached directly from the main lounge-dining area, an inviting space for fresh air and outdoor enjoyment.
The office, located near the main entrance, allows residents and families easy access to the Registered Manager.
Joseph Lodge is led by a Registered Manager (NVQ Level 5) and supported around the clock by a team of Senior Care Staff (NVQ Level 3), Health Care Assistants (NVQ Level 2), and Care Assistants who have achieved the Care Certificate. This dedicated care team is further supported by experienced domestic, laundry, and catering staff, ensuring a safe, comfortable, and homely environment for all residents.

He was recently in hospital in dartford, my mum was struggling to care for dad in dartford on her own so the time had come were we decided he needed 24 hour. During his 6 week stay in hospital it was decided we would move him to the southend area as its closer to me and mum would reside here if we made that happen. I viewed several carehomes in shoebury and southchurch. Joesph lodge wasnt even in my thoughts at first but i cant tell you how glad i am i come across it. Mj the manager let me go to view the home and instantly after walking around i got a good feel about the place l, dad has been in the home now for 5 days and i can honestly say the staff are fantastic, always smiling and got time to talk. The food looks great and the home is just lovely inside, if you look here trust me you wont be disapointed, im happy my dad is here even though its only been 5 days hopefully its long term!

Over 12 weeks Mum was so well looked after, especially when she lost her mobility it was no problem to go the extra mile to ensure Mum wasn't bed rested and could eat and socialise with the carers and fellow residents. They ensured Mum retained her dignity and happiness.

This is the third home mum has been in, the other two closed down, and it was a big shock for a lady of this age to comprehend what was happening but the staff were amazing and made her feel so welcome. A wonderful home for anyone needing or looking for the best in care and comfort.

There are comfy seats, private areas, a large dining table and plenty of space for families to visit their loved ones. Food is well presented, laundry done in-house and all is carried out with professionalism and a positive attitude - a testament to the excellent caring and thoughtful. The staff member who owns the home and takes an active role in its daily running. Thoroughly recommend.

The resident I visited with my friend was content and cheerful. However we had asked directions as no name was displayed near the road. The entrance was clearly marked and we were greeted quickly and in a friendly manner. Chairs skid a bit on the floor, as you get up the chair seems to slide back....
