Job summary
This position is based at our head office in Perth, with regular travel required to services throughout Scotland. While remote working is not available for this role, occasional home working may be considered where appropriate.
About the Role:
We are looking for a proactive and motivated IT Engineer who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. You will play a key role in supporting and maintaining the company’s IT infrastructure, ensuring all sites are connected, secure, and equipped to operate smoothly. Working closely with the IT Manager, you will also support staff remotely and on-site, helping to resolve a wide range of technical issues.
This role is ideal for someone with strong technical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and a willingness to travel. If you are someone who enjoys solving problems, managing priorities, and learning new systems, we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide remote and on-site support to users across all company locations.
- Maintain and manage IT systems including networks, desktops, and bespoke software.
- Monitor and respond to IT helpdesk requests, ensuring timely resolution.
- Support IT infrastructure projects and system upgrades.
- Install, configure, and maintain hardware and software.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure IT needs are met for new projects.
- Maintain accurate documentation for systems, configurations, and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with IT policies, data protection, and security standards.
- Cover responsibilities of the IT Manager during periods of absence.
About You:
You’ll bring a strong understanding of IT systems and networking, with the confidence to provide both remote and hands-on technical support. A good working knowledge of Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office 365, and general networking is essential. Experience with server environments, VoIP systems (e.g., Mitel or 3CX), and virtualisation (e.g., VMware) is desirable.
You will need:
- Great communication and organisational skills.
- A problem-solving mindset and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- A full driving licence, as travel to various sites is required.
- A willingness to learn and support bespoke systems unique to our business.
Additional Requirements:
The successful candidate will be required to provide satisfactory references and undergo a PVG check. Applicants must be authorised to work in the UK.
