North Inch & North Grove House

from M D (Daughter of Resident) published on 11 March 2026
Submitted via Postal Card • Report
Overall Experience 3.0 out of 5
My mother is a resident in NI House I have seen quite a few changes especially with care and support mainly staff levels think improvement is needed in this area. Staff are amazing but not enough of them. As you see in my choice of option for food I have rated this poor I think food could be improved
with simpler choices for elderly people, realise there is a budget but they are paying fees which are fairly expensive surely more appetising dishes would be an improvement. Activities are welcomed and well organised with a few changes I would be grateful.
Reply from David Kerr, Communications Team at North Inch & North Grove HouseThank you for taking the time to review our North Inch Care home. Relatives' feedback is incredibly important to us, as it helps inform our programme of continuous improvement, going forwards. We're pleased to hear your kind words about the activities in the home, and about your mother's team. They work incredibly hard, and it means a great deal to know their dedication is recognised.

With regard to your thoughts on staffing levels, and meals, we would appreciate the opportunity to discuss this with you in person, so we can be certain to fully understand your concerns and address them appropriately. Please do contact your Home Manger to arrange a suitable time. Thank you again for taking the time to share your thoughts.

My mother has now been a resident in North Grove for about 2 years and I cannot thank them enough for
the consistent and very professional care they have given her in sometimes challenging conditions. They
are always respectful, caring and very pleasant. The staff keep me informed of all incidents

I live overseas and was anxious about whether my mum was being well cared for in her new environment. I flew home to see for myself and needn't have worried. The staff were warm and caring, and without exception they seemed enthusiastic and happy to be there. Mum settled in very quickly, visits were
always welcome, and nothing was too much trouble. All staff members knew Mum and reassured me about how well she had settled in. I can't thank the team enough for the care they give.

I found the staff very helpful and considerate. I thought the food was good. The variety of food was good. I had a lovely room looking out over a woodland. Mum had been difficult to look after, refusing all offers of help until matters were taken out of her own hand. The staff at North Inch are so very good with her, it is difficult to imagine better care. Nothing is too much trouble, everything she says is listened to and if appropriate, acted on. If
not possible, it is patiently explained why that can't be done today. I have the utmost confidence in the team. Thank you!

Overall Experience 1.0 out of 5
When our friend went into Antiquary care home almost a year ago the care was adequate but since then attention to personal care and interaction with the residents has declined, often lack of showering, teeth brushing and shaving, two personal shavers going missing which which lead you to believe they
have been used on another resident with possibility of cross contamination. Complaints are listened to sympathetically then never dealt with. A few good staff but they can't be there 24/7

Reply from Melanie Brockway, Brand & Communications Manager at Antiquary Care HomeThank you for taking the time to share your comments. We value all feedback to inform our ongoing development. We're deeply concerned to hear that you feel there has been a decline in your friend's experience at Antiquary over this year. Regarding the charger and shaver you highlight, we understand this is already being investigated, but we have already replaced these directly. The Antiquary team is dedicated to ensuring our residents are treated with dignity, compassion and the highest standards of care. Wherever possible, we always encourage interaction with fellow residents and participation in activities. We have made sure the senior team is aware of your concerns, and again, thank you for bringing them to our attention.

I would like to make a special mention to a few staff members who have helped me regain faith back in BCG.
I would like to mention Ebeneezer who without fail always gets me attention whenever I am visiting my aunt. He always gives me updates and let's me know how things are.
I would also like to mention
Lori Fisher who has been great at trying to build a better relationship with Clement Park after having a tough time with the runnings of BCG.

My aunt was cared for a Balhousie for 7 years. During that time the key nurse in charge never changed and she provided me with welfare updates regularly. My aunt lived happily here and I cannot fault the level of her care. Her passing came peacefully and with dignity. I have no hesitation in recommending
Balhousie Pitlochry to anyone wanting a happy and secure environment for their loved one.

Wheatlands Care Home

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My sister was a resident within Wheatlands for many years and we never had any doubts how loved and well cared for she was. The nurses and carers knew her so well and we also got to know them, enjoying our visits and catching up with them all. I cannot thank the staff enough for the care she received
at the end of her life. Specifically Jade, who lead my sisters palliative care, Megan & Amy who were so kind and helpful and Desmond. We will be forever grateful. Wheatlands has always had a family feel and we very much felt a part of it. Thank you just isn't enough.

We were very grateful that this care home was able to accommodate my husband in a crisis placement at very short notice. It was a new experience for him and all the family and we really appreciated the friendliness and welcome we all received on admission and throughout his stay.
