Dad has been at Pitlochry care home since February. He's settled in really well, a lot better than we'd ever have imagined, which is undoubtedly due to the wonderful staff there. Everyone has been so welcoming to both Dad and myself, and nothing seems to be too much trouble. The staff are so friendly,
creating an enjoyable and happy, yet calm, environment. Dropping in once a week to see Dad, I'm always welcomed by smiling faces. I can't praise them highly enough.
I'm kept update with Dad's welfare, as well as all the activities he's getting involved in, always keeping my mind at ease.
No one wants to think of their loved ones in a care home, but often it is the only option. I feel so fortunate that Dad is in Pitlochry, and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.
Reply from David Kerr, Communications Team at Pitlochry Care HomeThank you for taking the time to write and send in this wonderful review of Pitlochry. Shirley C, my mother is in residential care at Luncarty House, every time we/I visit her, the home and staff are more than welcoming. The home is always warm, clean and smelling of freshly cooked or cooking food. Recently, due to my mothers elderly condition, we were contacted by staff and advised,
due to her known conditions she required hospital admittance etc. Mother was returned after assessment and treatment. She is receiving the very best of care and attention at Luncarty Care Home. Well done all.

My wife was in the care home for approx 4 years and the care provided just kept getting better and better.
I found the carers in her unit to be exceptional in their care and attention for the residents, nothing was ever too much bother.
The home was always kept clean and tidy. My wife's personal
care was always attended to promptly. I'd have difficulty in suggesting any improvements as everything was always dealt with.

We have been so pleasantly surprised since Mum has been living here having previously feared care homes! The building is so clean, fresh and bright with all facilities needed to keep the residents safe and happy. Mum seems to like the varied food and afternoon "cuppies". The care staff are
incredible- caring, efficient, happy in their work and
so so patient!! The entertainment team also do a great job of providing a large variety of optional activities to keep everyone entertained. We are so relieved and relaxed knowing Mum is being cared for in such a professional setting.

Stormont Lodge Care Home

from Lindsay C (Son of Resident) published on 2 April 2026

Our dear mum has recently celebrated her 2nd anniversary at Stormont Care Home. She could not be more happy and contented at Stormont and this is 100% down to the care and great kindness she receives from everyone there, management and staff alike. If only all care homes could be like Stormont, the
world would be a better place and people would be less stressed when the times comes in their life that residential care is required. The activities such as bus trips, live music performances and last week I was honoured to be present when the local school children called in for a visit. The visit of the Shetland ponies was a particularly magical event for mum as she loves horses and it's great to know they'll be back for a return visit. It was delightful to see the smiling faces of the residents as they got to pet the horses, it was really special. Keep up the great work you do and please know how much we all appreciate what you do, you are all wonderful.
Reply from David Kerr, Communications Team at Stormont Lodge Care HomeThank you for taking the time to send in this absolutely fantastic review of Stormont Lodge. There are so many magic moments at the home and to see the work being championed like this is just excellent. Your words will genuinely mean the world to the team. Thanks again.

My mother has been a resident at Monkbarns since December 2024. Monkbarns is spotless, airy and bright. However, it is the staff that make it such a wonderful place.
I feel such relief being able to leave my mum in such capable hands. We truly appreciate how hard the carers work and what a tough job
they have, not only physically but mentally. They excel on a day to day basis and I can't thank them enough for taking such good care of my mum. Its not easy!

Overall Experience 4.0 out of 5
On the first visit I was impressed with the cleanliness of the place and the friendliness of the staff.
On the second visit, staff in the lounge were not friendly, and the residents' teeth were visibly stained. I put them into the denture cleaner in the box on the wash basin. When we picked him up
after two weeks' respite, he smelled of urine, although he was not wet. Most of his clothes in bags smelled of urine. His teeth were covered in plaque, and noticed the denture cleaner box only had 2-3 tablets used. Dentures need to be soaked overnight in the cleaner to be properly cleaned.
Reply from David Kerr, Communications Team at Antiquary Care HomeThank you for taking the time to share your feedback, which is extremely important to us. We very much appreciate the high star ratings you have given but very disappointed to hear about the issues you have raised and would have liked to have been able to address these with you personally while your husband was staying with us.

At Antiquary care home, we take cleanliness, personal care, and dignity extremely seriously. We would welcome the opportunity to discuss your experience in more detail so we can be certain to understand and redress your concerns fully. If you would get in touch with the home manager, they can meet whenever suits you. And thank you again for your feedback.

Overall Experience 3.0 out of 5
My mother is a resident in NI House I have seen quite a few changes especially with care and support mainly staff levels think improvement is needed in this area. Staff are amazing but not enough of them. As you see in my choice of option for food I have rated this poor I think food could be improved
with simpler choices for elderly people, realise there is a budget but they are paying fees which are fairly expensive surely more appetising dishes would be an improvement. Activities are welcomed and well organised with a few changes I would be grateful.
Reply from David Kerr, Communications Team at North Inch & North Grove HouseThank you for taking the time to review our North Inch Care home. Relatives' feedback is incredibly important to us, as it helps inform our programme of continuous improvement, going forwards. We're pleased to hear your kind words about the activities in the home, and about your mother's team. They work incredibly hard, and it means a great deal to know their dedication is recognised.

With regard to your thoughts on staffing levels, and meals, we would appreciate the opportunity to discuss this with you in person, so we can be certain to fully understand your concerns and address them appropriately. My mother has now been a resident in North Grove for about 2 years and I cannot thank them enough for
the consistent and very professional care they have given her in sometimes challenging conditions. They
are always respectful, caring and very pleasant. The staff keep me informed of all incidents
and are always
friendly and helpful. I don't believe I could have found better care for my Mum. We are so grateful to you
all for your hard work and dedication.

I live overseas and was anxious about whether my mum was being well cared for in her new environment. I flew home to see for myself and needn't have worried. The staff were warm and caring, and without exception they seemed enthusiastic and happy to be there. Mum settled in very quickly, visits were
always welcome, and nothing was too much trouble. All staff members knew Mum and reassured me about how well she had settled in. I can't thank the team enough for the care they give.

I found the staff very helpful and considerate. I thought the food was good. The variety of food was good. I had a lovely room looking out over a woodland. I saw lots of wildlife, which I really enjoyed. I also liked the privacy of my room and own toilet and shower. I thought it was brilliant when I
got my hair washed, cut and blow-dried.

Mum had been difficult to look after, refusing all offers of help until matters were taken out of her own hand. The staff at North Inch are so very good with her, it is difficult to imagine better care. Nothing is too much trouble, everything she says is listened to and if appropriate, acted on. If
not possible, it is patiently explained why that can't be done today. I have the utmost confidence in the team. Thank you!

Antiquary Care Home

Overall Experience 1.0 out of 5
When our friend went into Antiquary care home almost a year ago the care was adequate but since then attention to personal care and interaction with the residents has declined, often lack of showering, teeth brushing and shaving, two personal shavers going missing which which lead you to believe they
have been used on another resident with possibility of cross contamination. Complaints are listened to sympathetically then never dealt with. A few good staff but they can't be there 24/7

Reply from Melanie Brockway, Brand & Communications Manager at Antiquary Care HomeThank you for taking the time to share your comments. We value all feedback to inform our ongoing development. We're deeply concerned to hear that you feel there has been a decline in your friend's experience at Antiquary over this year. Regarding the charger and shaver you highlight, we understand this is already being investigated, but we have already replaced these directly. The Antiquary team is dedicated to ensuring our residents are treated with dignity, compassion and the highest standards of care. Wherever possible, we always encourage interaction with fellow residents and participation in activities. We have made sure the senior team is aware of your concerns, and again, thank you for bringing them to our attention.
