Review of St Ronans Care Home from R O (Granddaughter of Resident) published on 24 July 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

Staff are very friendly and always on hand when something needs done. Care home is always clean and tidy. When my grandad has had an emotional day staff have been very supportive and allowed him to phone home to his wife. More activities could be provided for emotional days to keep residents distracted.

Dad has been in Balhousie Pitlochry since Dec 2025. After an initial period, which was quite unsettled, Dad has settled very well into his new home. Personally I only have absolute praise for all the staff that are here at Balhousie Pitlochry. Everyone is very welcoming and good with Dad. The staff keep me full informed of what has been happening with Dad's day and if anything has happened that I need to know about. Dad is well looked after and I am completely happy with all aspects of Dad's care.

My Dad has been in the home for 15 months now and I'm very happy with the staff and care he receives there.
I can't speak highly enough about the staff who are caring, attentive and very competent. They all know my dad and his particular needs and are very kind & patient with him.
Manager Andrew, Svetlana and Shona are always available if we have any questions.
It's a small unit with nice rooms and very clean, the garden is nice in summer. It's calm and quiet and there are activities for residents who are able.
We'd had live-in carers and tried another care home before this one and Pitlochry Care Home has been great both for my dad who seems settled and happy and for us as we can visit him when we want and know that he's looked after when we're not there.

I visit every week and am always warmly welcomed by staff, I'm impressed with how well they do their jobs. Highly recommend.

My dad has been a resident in Balhousie for 2 years now. He went in with my mum and recently my mum passed away. I would honestly say the staff went above and beyond in their caring for us as a family, but especially for my dad. Review of Ruthven Towers Care Home from Richard D (Son of Resident) published on 11 June 2026 Submitted via Website

Staff are really good with my mum coping with her challenging conditions and behaviour.
Lots of chat and showing an interest in her.
Information flow is good about events and changes.
When visiting access / egress can be delayed at times when staff are busy. Understand the need for security but a wee look at this for visitors would be appreciated.
Medical updates are timely and action taken without prompting.

Food choice and helping with selection of dishes could be looked at.

The highlight is the staff they are brilliant.

Review of Antiquary Care Home from B M (Son of Resident) published on 11 June 2026 Submitted via Postal Card

My brother and I visited 15 nursing homes in the Dundee, Abroath area. My mother broke both of her knees and will not walk again. We needed some place that would look after her 24/7. The manager is first class. Mum moved into Antiquary Care Home mid May and has settled in well due to the care given, nice room, good food, friendly atmosphere. The care home is spotlessly clean and staff are first class. My brother and I are so happy that our choice of home has lived up to expectations for my 93 year old mother.

Review of Stormont Lodge Care Home from E R (Son of Resident) published on 10 June 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
Mums been living at Stormont Lodge since April
It really is a "Care" "Home"
management & staff give their best to make residents feel comfortable.
Personal care is individually focused, mum is always clean & tidy.
Mum moved in after hip surgery so staff encouraged daily physio, she can now walk again using an aid.
Staff work hard at building positive relationships with both residents and their loved ones.
This explains why there is such a nice atmosphere in Stormont,we are always greeted with a welcoming smile from staff.
Any questions or frustrations dad or mum had while settling in were quickly answered which helped alleviate any niggly worries they had.
Father visits 4/5 times a week,he already feels like part of the furniture. He enjoys his cuppa, cake & chats with staff as they ask how HE is doing as well as updating him on mums day.
As a family we feel mum is being properly cared for,her individual needs are being met and she is safe.

Thank you Dawn, Kirsty & the Stormont Lodge Team!

Our dad has been in Pitlochry care home since the end of April and we are so pleased that he has settled so quickly. He is happy with his room and feels comfortable in his environment. A truly brilliant care home in the heart of Pitlochry. My mother has been a permanent resident in BCG Pitlochry since January 2025. My mother has dementia and other health issues which made me decide, that BCG Pitlochry was the best option for mother's long term care. The level of care my mother receives in the care home, from the wonderful and dedicated staff, is outstanding. The staff go above and beyond for all the residents in their care. It gives me peace of mind, knowing my mother is in safe hands at all times. As a family member too, I can feel how homely and welcoming the staff are during my visits. Always engaging with the residents, family and other visitors puts everyone at ease. The staff are a massive credit to BCG. From management, especially Svetlana, whom is amazing in her role as Deputy Manager, Shona does a great job in her role as administrator, to the fantastic nurses, care assistants, cleaners, kitchen staff etc. Thank you all for taking care of my mother!

Review of St Ronans Care Home from Hannah F (Wife of Resident) published on 2 June 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
Although I knew my husband would have to go into a care home the process of actually doing that is very stressful and can leave you with guilty feelings however once I walked into St Ronans to view the home the staff instantly made me relax and feel like this is "home"
They are so friendly and professional keeping me up dated with any issues Neil might have I just felt that my life became lighter and calmer knowing Neil was safe and cared for is priceless
The rooms are top quality and to be able to customise it for Neil means everything it is a home from home for him I'm so happy Neil is here

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this home to other carers

Review of Monkbarns Care Home from Linda M (Niece of Resident) published on 1 June 2026 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience
The staff at BCG Monkbarns Care Home are an excellent team, providing a superior level of care and support to the residents. Not only do they provide a high standard of personal care, help with meals where required and all the assistance which is necessary as part of day to day living, but they bring empathy, friendship and fun to the resident. Making a positive impact on their lives. The rooms were always spotless and laundry promptly turned around. The bedrooms are bright and cheery and some lovely seaside views from lounges.

Many thanks indeed to all the hardworking staff!
