Monkbarns Care Home

from Sylvia C (Daughter of Resident) published on 26 March 2026
Submitted via Postal Card • Report
Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My mother has been a resident at Monkbarns since December 2024. Monkbarns is spotless, airy and bright. However, it is the staff that make it such a wonderful place.
I feel such relief being able to leave my mum in such capable hands. We truly appreciate how hard the carers work and what a tough job
they have, not only physically but mentally. They excel on a day to day basis and I can't thank them enough for taking such good care of my mum. Its not easy!
Reply from David Kerr, Communications Team at Monkbarns Care HomeThank you very much for taking the time to share such a thoughtful review. It means a great deal to the whole team to know that you find Monkbarns a place you feel confident your mum is safe and well cared for. Your kind words are a wonderful acknowledgment of their dedication. Thanks again.

I found it very easy to use. Hopefully, my opinions will help in some ways. I feel very strongly that the manager has a very hard job and she is trying very hard to run a good nursing home.

Antiquary Care Home

from E M (Wife of Resident) published on 16 March 2026
Submitted via Postal Card • Report
Overall Experience 4.0 out of 5
On the first visit I was impressed with the cleanliness of the place and the friendliness of the staff.
On the second visit, staff in the lounge were not friendly, and the residents' teeth were visibly stained. I put them into the denture cleaner in the box on the wash basin. When we picked him up
after two weeks' respite, he smelled of urine, although he was not wet. Most of his clothes in bags smelled of urine. His teeth were covered in plaque, and noticed the denture cleaner box only had 2-3 tablets used. Dentures need to be soaked overnight in the cleaner to be properly cleaned.
Reply from David Kerr, Communications Team at Antiquary Care HomeThank you for taking the time to share your feedback, which is extremely important to us. We very much appreciate the high star ratings you have given but very disappointed to hear about the issues you have raised and would have liked to have been able to address these with you personally while your husband was staying with us.

At Antiquary care home, we take cleanliness, personal care, and dignity extremely seriously. We would welcome the opportunity to discuss your experience in more detail so we can be certain to understand and redress your concerns fully. If you would get in touch with the home manager, they can meet whenever suits you. And thank you again for your feedback.

Antiquary Care Home

from Sandra W (Friend of Resident) published on 9 February 2026

Overall Experience 1.0 out of 5
When our friend went into Antiquary care home almost a year ago the care was adequate but since then attention to personal care and interaction with the residents has declined, often lack of showering, teeth brushing and shaving, two personal shavers going missing which which lead you to believe they
have been used on another resident with possibility of cross contamination. Complaints are listened to sympathetically then never dealt with. A few good staff but they can't be there 24/7

Reply from Melanie Brockway, Brand & Communications Manager at Antiquary Care HomeThank you for taking the time to share your comments. We value all feedback to inform our ongoing development. We're deeply concerned to hear that you feel there has been a decline in your friend's experience at Antiquary over this year. Regarding the charger and shaver you highlight, we understand this is already being investigated, but we have already replaced these directly. The Antiquary team is dedicated to ensuring our residents are treated with dignity, compassion and the highest standards of care. Wherever possible, we always encourage interaction with fellow residents and participation in activities. We have made sure the senior team is aware of your concerns, and again, thank you for bringing them to our attention.

I would like to make a special mention to a few staff members who have helped me regain faith back in BCG.
I would like to mention Ebeneezer who without fail always gets me attention whenever I am visiting my aunt. He always gives me updates and let's me know how things are.
I would also like to mention
Lori Fisher who has been great at trying to build a better relationship with Clement Park after having a tough time with the runnings of BCG.
Reply from David Kerr, Communications Team at Clement ParkThank you for sharing your review. We're sorry you've experienced any difficulties whatsoever and greatly appreciate your feedback. All insights play an important role in constructively shaping our programme of continuous improvement going forward. Lisa and her team at Moyness Care Home have been excellent looking after my dad. I always found dad was kept tidy, clean and shaved. He said many times that he was happy staying at Moyness. My dad moved into Clement Park Care Home on 09/07/2025. Sadly, he wasn't there for long as he passed away seven weeks later. However, in that short time I was blown away with the amazing staff at the home. They were extremely friendly, caring, thoughtful and dedicated. They were extremely respectful
of Dad and his needs. Nothing was too much trouble. They even fed me as Dad was receiving end of life care. They also sent me a sympathy cared when Dad passed away. Small touches that mean so much. Dad's room was always kept clean and he enjoyed the meals he received. You do hear some horror stories about care homes but I am so glad I chose Clement Park for Dad. I could not fault a single thing.
Reply from David Kerr, Communications Team at Clement ParkThank you for taking the time to send in this lovely review for Clement Park. Sincerest condolences on your dad's passing. It was an absolute honour for the team to take good care of him in his time at the home. They will be so touched to hear your feedback.

My mother-in-law is very happy and content at Brookfield. The manager and all her team are brilliant, they are very welcoming, friendly and helpful, nothing is too much trouble. The family social media page is great as it lets me know what is happening when I'm not visiting and I get a personal regular
update about my mother-in-law's progress which is so much appreciated. There are numerous activities at the home, exercises, singing, crafts, trips out of the home are just a few which my mother-in-law loves. The care home is well kept, has a varied menu with choices, very pleasant to visit and our family are completely content and happy too with all the care my mother-in-law gets at Brookfield, thank you all.

I am very happy with the care and support my mother receives in Monkbarns Care Home. The staff work so hard to look after her they always find time to have friendly chats as well. It would be wonderful if the home can provide transport so residents can be taken on day trips as well as the indoor activities.
The staff are always helpful keeping me informed of my mothers needs and are so friendly. My mother keeps telling me how happy she is and loves the staff.
Reply from David Kerr, Communications Team at Monkbarns Care HomeThank you for sending in this fantastic review. It's lovely that you see the dedication the hardworking team puts into the care of every resident and that your mother is so happy with them and with her home. Although Monkbarns doesn't own a wheelchair friendly minibus for everyday use, the care team always endeavours to take residents out and about for day trips in the town whenever the weather allows it. Thanks again for the glowing appraisal. The team will be delighted with your words.

Nice to see mum happy.
Clement Park care home is clean, tidy, safe and secure. The decor is bright and contemporary in fact some of the furniture is the same as mum had in her flat which she is quite happy about.
The staff are getting to know mum and are attentive to her needs and are always ready
for a chat and a bit of banter with her. The food is decent and plentiful The staff are kind and make me confident that mum is in a caring community that will look after her. I haven't felt so confident about her situation for quite some time.
