St Ronans Care Home is an attractive, purpose-built facility opened in October 2012 to offer an exceptionally high standard of residential and nursing care. The home has stunning views over the Tay Bridge and River Tay and is close to local amenities.

At St Ronans, residents enjoy a new height in professional care, carried out in an extremely welcoming and comfortable setting. A holistic approach to care means that carers get to know the needs and preferences of every resident.

Large en-suite bedrooms are also equipped with digital flat screen TV, 24 hour "Alert Call" system, telephone point and wi-fi internet access. The home also features a "Care Cafe" off the centre lobby, where residents can entertain their visitors.

Still happy to have my uncle living here. He is content and is well looked after. He is encouraged to maintain as much independence as he can but the carers do a great job! Recently he took unwell and the care/nursing staff acted promptly and efficiently and he was admitted to hospital. Very reassuring
as I am a nurse myself.

My one complaint would be that staff are sometimes changed and this is not good for residents as staff get to know residents more the longer they are on the same unit.

Of course, staffing can sometimes change according to rotas and new personnel, however the particular team on your wife's unit has been steady for some time. Home is lovely and clean my Father gets the service he needs. The staff are all really friendly and helpful. Father is adapting to home now. The rooms are all lovely and clean and the other rooms out with him are all clean, great room in the afternoon for all residents to go to.

My husband has been a resident for 3 years and we are extremely happy with his care and social activities. In the last 2 months, he has needed a huge amount extra of personal care and all the St Ronans staff have gone above and beyond. They have kept him as safe as possible and are trying their very
best to rehabilitate him. They are making sure he is always included with the other residents in his daily activities.

At first, I had reservations about putting Mum into a home but the staff and management at St. Ronans have been amazing. I have seen a big difference in Mum as she is much calmer and is enjoying all the activities offered to her. We know she is safe and well looked after, which gives us peace of mind.
The interiors and location of St. Ronans are beautiful and Mum loves being out in the garden looking at the Tay and bridges. The home manager and her team are everything I could have asked for. I have no concerns leaving at the end of my visit.

Mum has only been a resident for a month and still needs time to adjust. Her family love her surroundings, and a beautiful, clean building. I have noted, however, the meals are always cold upon being given out. If Mum is in her room, by the time it gets to her room, it's cold. Never had a hot meal yet,
and this is imperative to Mum's well-being and eating. She won't eat cold food. I have left out a few ratings, and I have no comment to make on activities as yet/ Mum has been reluctant to join in being so frial.

My father entered St Ronans on 27 Oct 2024 and sadly passed on 12 Feb 2024. In the brief time he was in care I cannot fault the professionalism of all staff and management. I would like to particularly mention two members of staff in particular for both treating my father with respect and dignity during
this time. The management team were also outstanding as indeed were all staff. Thank you all for looking after my dad and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend you all.

Mum has not been in long but has had excellent care for her and our family. All the staff are very friendly and helpful and do look after residents very well. I have no concerns at all with my mum in Balhousie St Ronans Care Home. There is a great social and activity side to the home and residents are
encouraged to attend things in the lounge. Rooms and lounges are lovely and well looked after. The best home in the area.

My sister has only been there for about two months, but already, any fears we had have been alleviated. I had no idea that care homes were so nice! Warm, comfortable and a special mention to the staff. They even have meetings with residents to ask for their ideas and suggestions. Relatives are also
invited to join some events, e.g. Christmas Lunch, coffee mornings, etc.

At first thought, the home was going to be different from others, but still same problems of things going missing, cold food when should be hot. Having said that, the staff are lovely, and when you request something, it's mostly carried out.

My husband has been in St Ronans now for six weeks, and I could not wish for better care for him. The staff and management have been so supportive and considerate to both my husband's and my needs, and I feel totally confident that he is in the best place possible and some of his medical conditions
have improved with constant nursing care and observation. He is well settled and seems to be at ease and responding more to the staff.

Excellent care delivered by carers and entertainment staff. Cannot fault them. My mother is very well looked after and everyone is great with the family. Great place. Also, a mention to cleaners and cooks who do a great job keeping everything clean and feeding the residents respectively.

My dad has been a resident of Balhousie St Ronans Care Home in Dundee since 6th of September 2021. We are really, really happy with personal and emotional care. He is stimulated each day by the trips out and the activities. He had lost weight before becoming a resident and thankfully he is now nice
and healthy. He was made many friends and gets on well with all staff. We are more than happy with the care he receives from all the staff.

This is my first experience of care outside the home, and I would say that the care provided to my brother has been very satisfactory. He suffers from severe dementia and has other medical problems. To the best of my knowledge, All these issues are well served.

My grandparents moved into St ronans during the first lockdown in 2020. the care they both received has been amazing. Sadly my grad father passed away, however the staff were incredible in supporting my gran through such a terrible time.
It is a great relief to know my gran is so well cared for.

My father moved into St Ronan's just four weeks before his death. His room was kept very clean and it was in very good condition. The garden is accessible and Dad enjoyed sitting in the sunshine. I am writing to thank all members of staff who were always very attentive and caring. I wish to praise
two staff in Baxter Unit in particular who were fantastic.

Cheryl started her career at Balhousie Care Group as an executive to the Chairman, then worked on special projects, including opening the independent living facility Milton Mews in Huntly. She has supported a number of homes, including Alastrean House in Aberdeenshire. Cheryl joined Balhousie Antiquary as Home Manager in 2020, before taking the helm at BCG Clement Park and now St Ronans in Dundee.
