St Ronans Care Home

This is my first experience of care outside the home, and I would say that the care provided to my brother has been very satisfactory. He suffers from severe dementia and has other medical problems. To the best of my knowledge, All these issues are well served.

My mum has been in St Ronans for 5 years. her care has always been excellent. The staff are great, every one of them. New manager is really supporting the staff and the residents and is always visible. My mum's specific needs are catered for. Very many thanks.

This home is perfect apart from the fact it is very understaffed.

It is a great relief to know my gran is so well cared for.

My father moved into St Ronan's just four weeks before his death. His room was kept very clean and it was in very good condition. The garden is accessible and Dad enjoyed sitting in the sunshine. I am writing to thank all members of staff who were always very attentive and caring. I wish to praise two staff in Baxter Unit in particular who were fantastic.

My mum and dad went into St Ronans at the beginning of lockdown, and despite this being a terrible time for all, the management and staff provided a safe environment for them while caring for their every need while maintaining a professional manner. They also kept us up to date with any relevant changes to their well-being and any Covid related problems. Overall, I would recommend their professional and personal care.

Found it very comfortable and clean. The staff are very caring and attention given to patients. Good food and the rooms are very good.

All the staff at the home from the management to carers are all very friendly and welcoming. My dad is very well looked after and it's peace of mind for us as a family. Thye have been brilliant at keeping us informed and involved. The home is always immaculate and has high standards of care.

My mum has been in St Ronans for just over a week. I feel this place is very safe for my mum. It is spotlessly clean, the staff are fantastic and meet all my mum's needs.

Everyone are friendly and nice, I feel safe and happy here.

Bright, pleasant and clean surroundings.

Need cold drinks in rooms lack of toilet paper, paper towels and clean towels. Bin broken, chipped mugs. Lack of fruit and foods like meat and olive oil should ask residents what foods they like its the same menus every week. Sticky floors smell of urine. Clothing mix up for residents sometimes left in dirty clothing, not enough stimulations games, cards, dominoes etc. Tiny plates of food not very tasty food, cheapest of drinks Lemonade etc lady likes other fizzy drinks. Resident left for long periods of time without interaction from the staff, lack of stimulation staff kissing residents one minute and ignoring them the next, bit over the top, bedding horrible.

Knowing that mum is safe and comfortable is a great comfort to myself. The care home is bright and cheery, and there is always activities ongoing and parties.

St Ronan's standards are very high - the building itself is spacious, clean and welcoming - the food is nutritious, served hot and menus are varied - the laundry is excellent. This is my mum's home and I am very proud to say that.

I am so grateful to all the staff who are taking great care of my Mother's wellbeing. They are all so fantastic. Not only for my Mother's welfare but have helped our family and guided us in the right direction i.e. Medical appointments, paperwork, hygiene and the care and attention for Mum.

Overall not impressed with the cleanliness.
