This is my first experience of care outside the home, and I would say that the care provided to my brother has been very satisfactory. He suffers from severe dementia and has other medical problems. To the best of my knowledge, All these issues are well served.

My grandparents moved into St ronans during the first lockdown in 2020. the care they both received has been amazing. Sadly my grad father passed away, however the staff were incredible in supporting my gran through such a terrible time.

It is a great relief to know my gran is so well cared for.

My father moved into St Ronan's just four weeks before his death. His room was kept very clean and it was in very good condition. The garden is accessible and Dad enjoyed sitting in the sunshine. I am writing to thank all members of staff who were always very attentive and caring. I wish to praise two staff in Baxter Unit in particular who were fantastic.

My mum and dad went into St Ronans at the beginning of lockdown, and despite this being a terrible time for all, the management and staff provided a safe environment for them while caring for their every need while maintaining a professional manner. They also kept us up to date with any relevant changes to their well-being and any Covid related problems. Overall, I would recommend their professional and personal care.

Excellent care.
Mother was treated as an individual.
Staff all very caring and treated mother with respect and dignity.
All staff (cleaners, laundry staff, kitchen staff etc) knew my mum and spoke to her.
Everyone was very approachable and informative with family.
At times going over and above 'the call of duty'.

Bright, pleasant and clean surroundings.

Need cold drinks in rooms lack of toilet paper, paper towels and clean towels. Bin broken, chipped mugs. Lack of fruit and foods like meat and olive oil should ask residents what foods they like its the same menus every week. Sticky floors smell of urine. Clothing mix up for residents sometimes left in dirty clothing, not enough stimulations games, cards, dominoes etc. Tiny plates of food not very tasty food, cheapest of drinks Lemonade etc lady likes other fizzy drinks. Resident left for long periods of time without interaction from the staff, lack of stimulation staff kissing residents one minute and ignoring them the next, bit over the top, bedding horrible.

Since mum has become a resident here, I am very happy with the care and support mum receives. Staff are very approachable if there are any concerns. Staff carry out their duties in a very professional and caring manner. Residents are very well looked after and everyone is treated with dignity and respect.

Knowing that mum is safe and comfortable is a great comfort to myself. The care home is bright and cheery, and there is always activities ongoing and parties.

Overall Experience
When it came time to do this for mum, we looked at 10 care homes and as a family decided unanimously that the best place we had seen was St Ronan's. The whole experience when viewing, meeting staff and other residents filled us with hope during a very difficult time and a very difficult decision. We were lucky enough to finally be offered a place for mum, we were delighted and relieved.
The staff have been absolutely amazing: helping mum settle, encouraging and kind. Every one of them is professional and they quickly got to know mum and what her needs were. Their interaction with the family has been open, honest and non-judgemental. We know that we can talk to any of them and they will address any issues that we have or direct us to someone who can.

St Ronan's standards are very high - the building itself is spacious, clean and welcoming - the food is nutritious, served hot and menus are varied - the laundry is excellent. This is my mum's home and I am very proud to say that.

I am so grateful to all the staff who are taking great care of my Mother's wellbeing. They are all so fantastic. Not only for my Mother's welfare but have helped our family and guided us in the right direction i.e. Medical appointments, paperwork, hygiene and the care and attention for Mum.
