Rumbling Bridge Care Home

from K W (Daughter of Resident) published on 11 September 2025
Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
I've had relatives stay or live in three different care homes and have visited most of the homes in Perthshire. Rumbling Bridge stands out from all the rest because of the staff. Uniquely, the staff here seem happy and keen to help, which makes all the difference. Despite many visits, Rumbling Bridge
never smelled like a toilet (many do - it means they're too short staffed to deal with anything quickly), and nobody was asleep in their soup. They try their best to treat everyone with respect.

I really appreciate the kind, attentive, professional way the staff here look after and care for my mother. Thank you. I really like the atmosphere at the care home and the way the staff interact with each other and the residents. It's like a loving extended family here. I cannot thank the staff enough,
especially one staff member, for their kindness towards my mother and also towards me. The home is bright, clean, well-maintained with a really pleasant "vibe" feeling. Staff are open, genuine and always approachable for questions and any queries/concerns.

Staff are very attentive to all of mum's needs. She has fitted in really well and settled down quickly. The environment is lovely and has a really chilled feel about the whole place. Mum is engaging with the other residents, who all make her feel at home. We have nothing but praise for all the staff

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
We both want to reiterate how our cousin is settled with you all at Coupar Angus. She started to feel, in her own words 'safe'. At the start of her long journey into care firstly at other homes, we realised how anxious she had been feeling living alone and independently for so long prior to her move
into care. Your staff are all so good with her and certainly understand her often unclear demands, but we do see that spark of humour that our cousin can display which reminds us of old and one knows that she has connected with the staff. We are both happy with the care our cousin is receiving. Her diabetes is well controlled and wish our grateful thanks to be conveyed to all staff involved in her care.
Reply from Melanie Brockway, Brand & Communications Manager at Coupar Angus Care Home

Thank you so much for your considered review. To hear your cousin feels safe, less anxious and you see your cousin 'of old'; that you, yourself are happy with their care and how she is settling, means everything to us. We will be certain to pass on your kind words to our hardworking team. Thank you once again.

My husband was admitted into the secure dementia unit of the home on 21st March 2025 and lived there for three months until his death on 20th June. His dementia was severe and he was unable to take part in any of the activities provided. He was always treated with kindness and consideration. The assistant
manager of the home is absolutely outstanding in her kindness and personal care, she is one in a million. She helped to make my distress over his condition bearable.

All feedback plays a valuable role in informing how we move forward, and we take it very seriously, acting swiftly wherever necessary. We're sorry to hear that your experience regarding your father's care hasn't met the expectations we strive to uphold. This is disappointing to read. Throughout your father's time with us, we've not received any concerns of this nature. Had we been made aware, we would have investigated and addressed them as a matter of urgency. Our Activities Coordinator, whom you've kindly supported through the online relatives' group, continues to work closely with our care team to offer meaningful engagement for our residents - socially, mentally and physically - as they will allow.Once again, thank you for sharing your review. My mum has been in Stormont Lodge since December 2022 and the care and attention she received was outstanding. The staff were always kind and caring even although their job is not always easy. The mix of different nationalities have been an asset to Stormont Lodge. The atmosphere in the home is always
calm & friendly. I always felt part of the family whenever I went. The food and entertainment was always great. Appointing the manager was a great decision. She has great ideas and has made such a difference to the running of the home. Sadly my mum passed away on 02nd May. The staff were so kind and helpful.

My mother passed away on the 26th March and the care she received from the deputy manager and registered nurse during her stay was second to none. They really knew and cared for her and myself. I was with her when she passed and the professionalism and sheer kindness show by the registered nurse was
beyond her role. She knew my mum well and even laid her watch and handbag out as she knew she was never seen without them. You are so lucky to have them both as part of your team and because of them both our journey was so much easier.

My mother is a resident and I have always found the standard of care to be excellent. Staff are always courteous, caring and willing to chat over any matter. The Home is clean tidy and well looked after, communal areas are comfortable airy and the food is good. The Manager and administrator are very
professional and caring and know me by name when I visit. My mum has Dementia and her level of care is very good. The nursing staff are really good and know the folks in their care really well. They are patient and kind and when one of the female residents became very agitated and violent the staff were just so professional and gently calming her despite being lashed out at and sworn at. Lots of activities go on things like visiting ponies, School children and church which are great at making the residents feel valued. There are also meetings for family members where nothing is hidden.
It cannot be an easy job for the management and staff. The care provided is excellent.
