b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 1.5 out of 5 from 1 positive Reviews in the last 2 years. (A 2 year period has been used as there were no positive reviews in the last 12 months)
a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating of all Reviews over all time. For each review the Care Home / service is rated Excellent, Good, Satisfactory, Poor or Very Poor on a number of areas eg Staff, Management etc. The Care Home receives points for each rating as follows: Excellent = 5. The 5 points available are broken down as follows:
4 points are available for the first 5 Positive Reviews, 3 points for the first Positive Review and then 0.25 Points for each of the next 4 Positive Reviews.
1 point is available for reaching a target number of Positive Reviews based on 20% of the number of registered maximum number of service users. If the target is partially reached then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home with 50 registered maximum number of service users has a target of 10 Positive Reviews, if it has 10 or more Positive Reviews it will receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews will receive 0.7 points.
If there are no Positive Reviews in the last 12 months, then 2.5 points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 2 years. The calculation is the same as above, except the points are divided by 2.

Review submitted from a Website Submission by Rick L (Son of Resident) on Friday 21 October 2016. Relates to September 2016.
I and my wife visited twice over a couple of days, both times around 5-30pm till 6-30pm. Residents were mostly sitting in the lounge together having had tea already.
There's a timetable of events on show, a variety of events and activities, but one of the staff told us only the coffee morning actually happened (and residents had coffee each morning anyway).
The staff did seem genuinely caring, patient and helpful. There were usually 2 or 3 about and it was easy enough to find someone when we wanted to ask something.
The corridors are named after Hebridean Islands, and each room is numbered. However, all the corridors had the same carpet, the same paint colour and little to differentiate apart from the room numbers. My mum found it confusing, especially if she didn't have her glasses on. Perhaps different coloured carpets or differently painted doors might help that.
It seems difficult to get the home to test for a UTI when Mum seems unusually confused. She's normally OK mentally.
