I am Power of Attorney for my uncle who had to spend a number of weeks in your care home for respite care while his wife was in the hospital. The staff went out of their way to ensure that he had everything that he asked for and they couldn't have been more helpful. If l had to phone the care home for any reason whatsoever, the staff were all very pleasant and passed on any messages if required. On the other hand, if my uncle required anything at all, the staff at the home phoned me to let me know. Very good service all around.
Thanks for your review - this will be a great boost to our staff. It means everything to them to hear they have made a difference, both to their residents and their families. We'll be sure to pass your words on.
Resident is happy and looked after.
General decline as expected, but home and staff cope very well.
Thank you for taking the time to write your review. We're very pleased to hear your sister-in-law is happy and looked after. We will pass on your comments to the hardworking staff.
My mother has now been a resident for about six weeks, in which time I have seen her grow stronger and more confident every week. She is enjoying her stay and is now starting to participate in the many activities that take place on an almost daily basis. I have always found the staff to be helpful and knowledgable in every aspect. I feel confident in leaving my mum in the care of the staff. As a "picky/plain" eater, she is enjoying her meals and is always keen to tell me what's on the menu. I would have no hesitation in recommending North Inch House on the evidence I have encountered so far.
Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a fabulous review. It is wonderful for our staff to hear how much improvement you've seen in your mother in such a short time and how confident you are in her care, activities and eating. We will be sure to pass on your comments - and thank you once again.
After a horrendous experience in my cousin's previous care home, I knew from the minute I entered Balhousie Noth Grove that she was in the right place for her ongoing care. I find the staff whenever I visit to be so polite, helpful and attentive towards my cousin and I. The care home is exceptionally clean and tidy, and the food served to the residents is second to none. Overall, the staff are a credit to Balhousie.
What a fantastic review! Thank you for taking the time to write for us. It means a great deal to us to hear how your cousin is so settled and well cared for, and that you feel welcomed and respected when visiting - as it should be. We will pass on your comments to the staff at North Grove. Thank you once again.
During the time my mother has been in North Grove, my impression of the staff has been favourable. I feel that she is getting good care - and her condition makes her an awkward person at times. Staff are cheerful and positive. I am kept informed of issues arising. PS visitors toilet is badly ventilated and often smelly.
We appreciate you taking the time to write your review; thank you. We're very pleased to hear your mother is getting good care and the staff are cheerful and positive. We will pass the issue you have raised to the staff. Thank you once again.
Took her a little while to settle in, but she soon began to enjoy the various activities on offer with the other residents.
Lockdown came along, and window visits proved quite difficult for mum.
But the carers and activity coordinator kept the residents occupied at times when the home was closed to visitors.
Mum survived covid a year ago, thanks to the amazing care of the staff, but sadly the last five months her health deteriorated and she received an end of life prognosis.
We cannot fault the excellent care she received in her final weeks. We were allowed to visit whenever we wished, and if we weren't there in her last few days, we would always find a carer sitting with mum, ensuring she was never on her own.
The love and attention she received were amazing, from admin and domestic staff to the amazing carers.
I would have no hesitation in recommending Balhousie North Inch
Thank you so much for taking the time to write this review. We really appreciate it, especially under the circumstances. We are sorry for your loss. However, we're glad to hear that our staff were so supportive at your and her time of need.
Difficult to give full report due to covid restrictions in the home i.e hairdresser etc. The staff are very helpful and polite. The food is excellent.
Thank you so much for taking the time to review us. Really appreciated it and we're glad you are happy with the facility.
There's a timetable of events on show, a variety of events and activities, but one of the staff told us only the coffee morning actually happened (and residents had coffee each morning anyway).
The staff did seem genuinely caring, patient and helpful. There were usually 2 or 3 about and it was easy enough to find someone when we wanted to ask something.
The corridors are named after Hebridean Islands, and each room is numbered. However, all the corridors had the same carpet, the same paint colour and little to differentiate apart from the room numbers. My mum found it confusing, especially if she didn't have her glasses on. Perhaps different coloured carpets or differently painted doors might help that.
It seems difficult to get the home to test for a UTI when Mum seems unusually confused. She's normally OK mentally.
