Luncarty House care home is located in Luncarty, Perth and is an old Victorian style property which was originally the family home of the Stevensons who owned both Stanley and Luncarty Mills. The mills provided work for the local people both in Luncarty and Stanley and the home remains very much part of this local community.
In the early 1980s the house was developed as a residential home, which stands today....

Shirley C, my mother is in residential care at Luncarty House, every time we/I visit her, the home and staff are more than welcoming. The home is always warm, clean and smelling of freshly cooked or cooking food. Recently, due to my mothers elderly condition, we were contacted by staff and advised, due to her known conditions she required hospital admittance etc. Mother was returned after assessment and treatment. She is receiving the very best of care and attention at Luncarty Care Home. Well done all.
Thank you for sending in this lovely review of Luncarty. It means a lot to know that you see the high level of care given to your mother and the attention paid to making sure it's a safe, clean and homely setting. The team will be so pleased to read this. Thanks again.
Staff all very friendly and caring.
Thank you for taking the time to put through a great review for us. It's very good to know your experience of the team at Luncarty Care Home is care and friendliness. We'll be sure to pass on your kind words to them. Thank you once again.
Otherwise she and the family feel she is very well looked after.
Thank you for taking the time to review BCG Luncarty. It's great to hear that you and your mother are generally feeling well looked after at the home. It's also important to us to make continuous improvements so we have raised this with the management team for awareness. Thanks again.
The place looks great as does the grounds. I'm trying to think of something negative to say about the place but I can't so well done.
Thank you for taking the time to share this great review of Luncarty. It's reassuring to know your mum has settled in so well and that she's enjoying the facilities on offer. The team prides itself on creating a homely atmosphere and they'll be delighted to hear your feedback.
Very tidy, well-run establishment. Clean and staff are very friendly.
Thank you for taking the time to write your review for us. It means a great deal to our hardworking staff to know their work makes a difference for their residents and their families. Thank you once again.
Mum feels safe in the home. Staff very friendly and caring. The only downside is not all rooms have private toilet facilities.
Thank you for taking the time to write your review for our Luncarty team. We're so glad to hear your mum feels safe, and that you both find the staff friendly and caring. We'll be sure to pass on your words to the team. Thanks once again.
This home needs a deep clean and redecoration. I often had to clear away dirty plates and empty the bin. There are some lovely carers who were kind to my mum, but there are problems with management in this home. My mum's buzzer often did not work as this was a lifeline to her, this was reported several times to management and to community nurses. This home should not be offering palliative care as there is not a registered nurse on-site to give pain relief. My mum had to wait for community nurses to give pain relief. Therefore I cannot recommend this home as I feel that it's not a safe environment.
Thank you for taking the time to submit a review. Your feedback is very important to us and we're glad to hear you were happy with the carers looking after your mother. We were aware of the issues you have outlined and tackled those speedily at the time they were raised, as we take all information...
So grateful for all the kindness.
Would highly recommend.
Thank you very much for taking the time to submit a review. We are sorry to hear of the loss of your aunt, but it is also so lovely to hear of the wonderful year she had at Balhousie Luncarty and how kind and caring the staff were. We will be sure to pass on your kind words to the hardworking team.
Please do not put your loved ones in this care home. My relation was in this home for many years, but recently the management changed and the care has lacked in many ways. There are few good carers in this home but many sit about on their phones with not a thought for the residents. Many things happened in this care home that I couldn’t even bring myself to list ie: physically and mentally, under investigation) Please do not recommend or use this care home for your loved ones. You seriously will regret it.
Thank you for taking the time to get in touch. We were deeply saddened that the specific details of your relation’s health necessitated a change of home after so many years of being happily settled with us. As you have mentioned, there has been an in-depth investigation around the circumstances for...
My mum went into Luncarty Care Home on a temporary basis until a care home closer to me became available. However, I soon noticed how happy when was there and how relaxed she was with the staff who seemed to genuinely care about her and the other residents. So with this in mind, I decided to make it a permanent residency at Luncarty House and I have no regrets. They have activities for the residents which my mum really enjoys and with it being a smaller care home, staff have gotten to know my mum well. Couldn't fault it.
Thank you for your lovely review. It is wonderful to hear how relaxed and happy your mum is at Luncarty and that she has been able to make it her permanent residency. We will be sure to pass on your kind comments to the team – they will be delighted.
Balhousie Luncarty Care Home is one of the best I have come across for the caring and compassionate staff. They are friendly and welcoming to both residents and family.
Thank you so much for your review. We're so very pleased to hear how you found Luncarty full of compassion, friendly and welcoming - as we would hope. We will be sure to pass your kind words on to our hardworking staff. Thank you once again.
Her room was warm clean and comfortable.
As a family, we were always kept well informed of any health issues by staff.
We are very grateful to the manager and all the staff they do a truly wonderful job.
Thank you so much for your lovely review. We are very glad you are happy with the care your mum received from the hard-working team at Balhousie Luncarty. We will pass on your kind words to the staff, who will be so glad to read them. Thanks again!
Kept well informed of all concerns. Dad is well looked after and is happy in his surroundings. His room is comfortable and well-heated.
Thank you very much for this fantastic review. We are so glad your dad is happy and comfortable at Balhousie Luncarty. We will pass on your lovely message to our hard-working staff, who will be so pleased to hear this. Thanks again.
No complaints whatsoever. Very good all around.
Thank you so much for your review - perfect and succinct. We're very pleased to hear how happy you are with your loved one's care and will be sure to pass it on to our hardworking staff.
My father is extremely happy and well cared for at Balhousie Luncarty Care Home. I would not hesitate to recommend this care home. The staff go above and beyond with the care given.
What a wonderful review. Thank you for taking the time to write it for us. This will be lovely for our hardworking staff to hear and we'll be sure to pass it on. Thank you once again.
The staff were kind, patient and very caring towards her, making sure all her needs were met. They were approachable and answered any questions we had. As a visitor, I was always made to feel welcome by the staff who took the time out to ask how I was as well as my mum. Near the end of my mum's life, the staff could not be more helpful and caring to all the family, and we will be eternally grateful.
Thank you so much for taking the time to write your review for us. It's very special for our hardworking staff to hear what a difference they've made to our residents and their families. We'll be sure to pass your words on, and thank you once again.
I find the staff very approachable. My mum is always presented well. Appears to enjoy the food and has put on weight. Has a lovely room, which is well kept, always very clean and tidy. The family are more relaxed that she is safe and well looked after.
Thank you so much for taking the time to write your review. We're so pleased to hear you are happy with your Mum's progress and that has brought benefits to your family too. We will pass on your comments to the staff team.
The home is a great environment with staff who care about their residents. Upgrades to the home continue to be completed which is important for the morale of the staff and residents. Although the building is old it doesn't look or feel rundown. Covid rules for all visitors are always followed. It should be a point of pride that the home went 2 years covid free. Transparency and openness between the home and the next of kin are critical. I always get a call if there has been an issue with my dad falling down, no matter how trivial the fall was. This gives me the confidence that I can rely on knowing exactly what is go8ing on. There is always a member of staff to answer any questions I may have. Recruitment, retention and illness cover seem to be problematic. However, it is a common theme across the industry. The staff are definitely committed to their roles with some staff doing back to back shifts. Overall, I am so impressed by the standards of the home staff. If someone could reserve me a room for circa 2040s that would be great.
Thank you for taking the time to review our Luncarty home, and we really appreciate your comments and insight. Staff across the whole sector are, as you say, facing retention, recruitment and illness/absence issue,s but it's not always the case that the general public realises this. Many thanks again, and we'll look into booking that room for you in advance.
Mum settled in from day one, she praises the staff and loves the attention she gets from them. The food is delicious and the sandwiches gorgeous (her words). She says it's a pity a lot of them want to sleep a lot but that's her only negative. Overall her family are put at ease knowing she is being well cared for.
Thank you so much for taking the time to review us. This is music to our ears, and will be a lovely boost to our hardworking staff at Balhousie Luncarty.
A very happy home both for residents and staff. The staff carry out their duties assiduously, sensitive and swiftly as appropriate, and with enormously considerate patience. I cannot state too highly the quality of the home and fixtures and fittings, the care and the professionalism of all the staff.
Thank you so much for your kind words. We're delighted you're happy at Luncarty.
