The food is not good, as by the time it gets down to her room it's either warm or cold. There's no taste to the food as it's all been frozen, nothing cooked from fresh. My brother can come down from buying fish and chips, parking car, waiting to be let in, signing in then walking down to the bottom floor and to room and the fish and chips are still hot. My aunty likes her food piping hot. She has only met the manager once if met her, the manager should be visiting residents weekly.

We understand that the chef has met with your auntie to discuss the menu and he attends the residents monthly meeting to address any concerns. Also, the Home Manager has met with your auntie individually as well as at the monthly residents meetings. My mother was in Ruthven Towers for a very short period (ten days). In this time, she was cared for in an exemplary manner by all the staff she came into contact with. Apart from excellent personal care, they engaged with her in a most caring and empathetic way. Nothing was too much trouble for them and she took to all of the staff right away. Unfortunately, she deteriorated very quickly and the nursing, and palliative care she received was second to none. In her time there it was a great comfort to all of us that she was so well cared for until the end of her life. Apart from looking after my mum, their care extended to our family and we are very grateful for that.

We were delighted to get my mother out of the hospital and into local care that could cope with and improve her physical and mental condition. My mother has improved significantly in all aspects since she came to Ruthven Towers. Some small problems/issues - but overall good.
