Position: Regional Care Specialist 
Location: Regional (Around Cardiff and Bath) 
Type: 40hrs- Full-Time

The Role:

To support the Regional Director /Regional Development Manager with the continuous improvement of care quality standards across the homes, providing the General Managers and their teams with advice, guidance, support as required.

To contribute to the achievement of the Hallmark Care Homes’ vision: To be recognised as the leading provider of high-quality relationship centred care for all residents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsibility for monitoring, recording and reporting on quality assurance and compliance.
  • Facilitate the implementation of compliance related to regulatory requirements and best practice.
  • Conduct and monitor the outcomes of clinical audits and report to your Regional Director any areas that are not achieving the organisation’s benchmark of Good or above.
  • Ensure that all regulatory and statutory requirements are met and company policies and procedures are adhered to.
  • To work as a clinician within the homes as and when if required.
  • Support General Managers with and monitoring and the implementation of action plans related to regulatory requirements and internal compliance audits to time agreed scales.
  • Ensure all regulatory requirements from CIW are implemented to time scale
  • Undertake Clinical investigations and produce reports.
  • Provide clinical advice and support to the teams and promote a learning culture to mitigate recurrence of non-compliance.
  • Promote and champion quality improvements within Hallmark across all team member groups.
  • Assist with the delivery of themed care related trainings and/or workshops to home management and care teams.
  • To be involved in the Recruitment & Induction process of senior clinicians.
  • Assist with the implementation of electronic care planning and medication records,  
  • Prepare information and attend weekly compliance calls.
  • Support all homes in the investigations RCA /DOC Notifications Safeguarding referrals of untoward events and subsequent attendance at regulatory meetings where required.
  • Monitor quality of CIW and safeguarding notifications for each home.

What We're Looking For:

  • Must be a Registered Nurse (NMC)
  • Must be articulate with great communications skills – writing reports and carrying out audits
  • Wales Care Home experience would be highly beneficial.
  • We would consider someone from a non-Care home background – but you must have experience of investigations with the CIW.
  • A strong RISCA regulations understanding
