Job summary
1. To ensure entries in the maintenance book are checked and attended to throughout the shift and any entries that cannot be dealt with should be reported to the Deputy Manager.
2. To attend to any malfunctions at the earliest opportunity and if unable to rectify the fault to report to the Deputy Manager.
3. To liaise with any contractor called to the Home to attend to any faulty equipment.
4. To liaise with the Laundry Assistant regarding maintenance of the laundry equipment.
5. To liaise with the Chef regarding maintenance of the kitchen equipment.
6. To carry out required tests and checks in accordance with the maintenance planner.
7. To carry out audits in accordance with the audit schedule.
8. To regularly check the equipment in the Home.
9. To attend to the weekly fire test and record accordingly in the fire logbook. Frequent fire drills for day & night staff to be undertaken and ensure compliance with the Home’s fire drill policy 402.
10. To check on a weekly basis, all fire doors (i.e. open & close) and ensure all fire exits are clear.
11. To ensure waste bins are collected by external contractors on a weekly basis.
12. To attend weekday flash meetings and monthly H&S meetings and contribute to staff meetings, encouraging a climate of involvement, ownership, and development.
13. To produce a weekly written report for the Registered and Deputy Manager.
14. To check the biomass and oil boilers are running smoothly in accordance with the maintenance planner.
15. To check on a weekly basis the oil and LPG gauges and wood pellet store to ensure sufficient amounts and to advise the Deputy Manager when further deliveries are required.
16. To check on a weekly basis equipment stock is sufficient i.e. mattresses, beds, headboards, etc..
17. To ensure parts or other items required for maintenance tasks are kept in stock.
18. PAT testing & Asset labelling.
19. Attend any training required to fulfil role and all mandatory training.
20. To perform other such reasonable duties as may be required.
