Job summary
Key Responsibilities

Daily Checks & Repairs:
Review maintenance logs and carry out necessary repairs or contact service agents as required. Ensure all equipment and tools are clean, safe, and securely stored. -
Preventative Maintenance:
Undertake scheduled maintenance of equipment (e.g., fans, fire alarms, extinguishers) and keep records in line with company guidelines. -
Grounds & Building Upkeep:
Maintain the grounds, including grass cutting, pruning, and general gardening. Perform general redecoration and minor repairs as instructed. Ensure all doors, pathways, and storage areas are clear, tidy, and secure. -
Safety & Security:
Report any deficiencies in security and safety to the Home Manager and relevant contractors. Ensure monthly meter readings (gas, electricity, water) are submitted on time. -
Resident Interaction:
Maintain residents’ privacy and communicate with nursing staff about works that may affect resident care. Liaise regularly with the Home Manager regarding maintenance issues. -
Emergency & On-Call Duties:
Be available for emergency repairs and on-call service if required.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in property maintenance is preferred, but not always required.
- Ability to perform minor repairs, cleaning, and grounds maintenance.
- Good communication skills and a caring, patient nature.
- Physical capability for manual tasks (lifting, bending, climbing stairs).
- Reliability and ability to work independently.
Additional Duties
- Assist with deliveries and storage.
- Support resident move-ins/move-outs and event setups.
- Participate in training and continuous improvement programmes.
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold organisational values.
