We take pride in offering nutritious, homely meals that support wellbeing, dignity, and enjoyment. We are now seeking a reliable and passionate Bank Cook to join our friendly team.
The Role
As a Bank Cook, you will play a key role in delivering
high-quality meals tailored to the dietary needs of our residents. You
will step in to cover shifts during staff absences, holidays, or busy
periods, ensuring our kitchen runs smoothly at all times.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook nutritious, well-balanced meals in line with residents’ dietary requirements and preferences
- Follow menu plans while also being flexible and creative when needed
- Maintain excellent food hygiene and safety standards (in line with HACCP and CQC requirements)
- Ensure the kitchen, equipment, and storage areas remain clean, safe, and organised
- Work collaboratively with care and management teams to support resident wellbeing
- Cater for special diets, allergens, and texture-modified meals
About You:
- Experience working as a Cook/Chef, ideally within a care home or similar environment
- Understanding of dietary needs for older adults (desirable)
- Food Hygiene Level 2 (minimum)
- A flexible, dependable, and compassionate approach
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Genuine passion for cooking and providing excellent service
