Maesbrook Care Home is a well-established 45-bed nursing home in Shrewsbury, providing 24-hour nursing, palliative and complex care for older people.

The Role
We are looking for an experienced Deputy Nurse Manager / Clinical Lead Nurse (RGN/RMN) to support the Home Manager in providing strong clinical leadership and maintaining high standards of care across the home.
This role would suit an experienced nurse who wants to take the next step in their leadership career and play a key role in maintaining strong clinical standards and governance within the home.
We are strengthening our clinical leadership and governance within the home and are looking for a confident nurse leader who takes pride in maintaining excellent clinical standards, documentation and person-centred care.
You will lead by example, supporting and mentoring the nursing team while ensuring safe, high-quality care is delivered at all times.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide clinical leadership to the nursing and care team
during day shifts
• Deputise for the Home Manager when
required
• Oversee care planning, medication management
and clinical documentation
• Conduct clinical audits, investigations and care reviews
• Support and mentor nurses, senior carers and new team members
• Promote high standards of person-centred care
• Build positive relationships with residents, families
and healthcare professionals
• Occasionally support night shifts during holidays or
staff absence to ensure continuity and reduce agency use
What We Offer

Shift Pattern
Long day shifts: 07:45 – 20:00
Night shifts (occasional cover): 19:45 – 08:00

What We’re Looking For
• Registered Nurse (RGN or RMN) with an active NMC
PIN
• Experience in a senior nurse or leadership role
within a care home
• Strong clinical knowledge and attention to detail
•
Experience with clinical audits, governance processes and documentation
• Confident leadership and communication skills
• A
professional attitude and commitment to maintaining high standards of care
