The role
You will be responsible for preparing and serving nutritious, varied, and appealing meals for our residents, taking into account individual dietary requirements and personal preferences. Working as part of a small kitchen team, you will help maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming kitchen environment.
- Prepare and cook breakfast, lunch, and/or evening meals for residents
- Follow menu plans while adapting to residents' dietary needs and preferences
- Cater for special diets including modified textures, allergens, and cultural requirements
- Maintain high standards of food hygiene and kitchen cleanliness
- Assist with stock rotation, ordering, and monitoring of kitchen supplies
- Complete food temperature and safety records accurately
- Work collaboratively with care staff to support residents' nutritional wellbeing
Skills / Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a catering or kitchen environment (care sector experience desirable) Basic Food Hygiene certificate (Level 2) — or willingness to obtain one Knowledge of allergen awareness and special dietary requirements Ability to work efficiently and calmly within a team A genuine interest in the health and wellbeing of elderly residents Good communication skills and a friendly
