Job summary

We are looking for a compassionate and experienced Senior Care Assistant to join our dedicated team. As a Senior, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality, person-centred care and supporting the day-to-day running of the care home.

You will lead by example, ensuring residents receive safe, respectful, and dignified care while supporting junior staff on shift.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high standards of personal care (washing, dressing, toileting, mobility support)
  • Administer medication in line with company policies and training
  • Support and supervise Care Assistants on shift
  • Act as shift leader in the absence of management
  • Maintain accurate care records and documentation
  • Liaise with nurses, GPs, families, and other healthcare professionals
  • Respond to emergencies and ensure residents’ safety at all times
  • Carry out risk assessments and update care plans
  • Promote independence, dignity, and wellbeing of residents
  • Ensure compliance with CQC standards and safeguarding procedures

Skills / Qualifications:

  • Requirements Previous experience as a Care Assistant (Senior experience preferred) NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care (or working towards it) Medication administration training (or willingness to complete) Good leadership and communication skills Strong understanding of safeguarding and care standards in the UK Ability to work flexible shifts
