Role Overview
As Head Chef, you will take overall responsibility for the day
to day management of the kitchen, ensuring residents receive high
quality, nutritious meals that support their health, wellbeing and
individual dietary needs.
You will lead and organise the kitchen team, overseeing food preparation, service and presentation to ensure meals are delivered consistently and to a high standard. You will develop menus that are balanced, varied and tailored to residents with complex health needs, including modified diets and specialist requirements.
Working within a clinical environment, you will ensure all food hygiene, safety and infection control standards are strictly followed. You will manage stock, monitor deliveries, maintain accurate records and ensure the kitchen operates safely and efficiently at all times.
You will also support and supervise your team, promoting good practice, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and ensuring a well organised and professional kitchen environment. Your role will contribute directly to residents’ comfort, nutrition and overall quality of life.
What We Are Looking For
- City and Guilds 706 1 and 706 2 or equivalent culinary qualification
- Food Hygiene Certificate
- Previous experience leading or supervising a kitchen team
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Ability to manage kitchen operations effectively
- Experience within a care home or healthcare setting is desirable but not essential
