Job summary

Become a Kitchen Porter at Maryville Care Home, where you'll help prepare, cook, and serve nutritious meals for residents, ensuring the kitchen and catering areas meet the highest standards of hygiene and safety.

Responsibilities include cleaning, washing, and cutting vegetables, helping with meal preparation, and making sure all dishes are served and presented to a high standard. You may also assist with preparing special meals and snacks as needed.

The role also involves maintaining exceptional hygiene standards by mopping kitchen floors and thoroughly cleaning and tidying the kitchen, storage rooms, and all equipment, including fridges, stoves, and utensils. You should also be familiar with food hygiene, environmental health, and health and safety regulations relating to kitchen and catering services. In addition, you may be required to assist and liaise with tradespeople when needed.
