Job summary
Stuart House Dementia Care Home is a small, specialist service in Weston-super-Mare, set within a characterful Victorian terrace close to the seafront. Supporting up to 19 residents, the home provides high quality residential, respite and palliative dementia care within a calm, homely and person centred environment designed to promote comfort, familiarity and dignity.
Care Assistant Contract
- £12.71 per hour
- Contracted to 32 hours per week
- Paid DBS, pension, uniform provided and onsite parking
- 5.6 weeks annual leave (pro rata)
Role Overview
As a Care Assistant, you will
support individuals with a range of complex needs, including advanced
dementia, mental health conditions and other long term health
challenges. Your role is to provide safe, consistent and person
centred care that promotes dignity, independence and wellbeing.
Working closely with the wider team, you will follow individual care plans and support structured routines, helping to create a calm, stable and supportive environment. You will build positive relationships with residents, understanding their needs and responding appropriately to changes in behaviour or wellbeing.
This is a hands on role that requires patience, resilience and a calm approach, supporting both the physical and emotional needs of residents while ensuring care is delivered safely and consistently at all times.
What We Are Looking For

- Willingness to learn and develop within a complex care environment
- Previous experience in care or mental health is beneficial but not essential
- NVQ2 in Health & Social Care, or willingness to obtain
