Job summary

Responsible to Manager, Management Team, Senior Care.

Job purpose In conjunction with other staff, help create a supportive and homely atmosphere where clients can achieve maximum independence. Where the promotion of privacy, dignity, independence, choice, fulfilment and rights being the six broad values are given the highest priority.

Main duties

Duties will include all stages connected with the preparation and cooking of food and beverages.

The cook to follow the planned menu rotation and will be responsible for the organising of service.

Client contact is a necessary requirement as part of your normal duties as will be the collecting and collating of clients choices in connection with the menus.

Duties will include cleaning all equipment used in the kitchen and associated areas.

Maintain records of residents meals and dietary requirements, i.e. diabetic, vegetarian etc.

You may be required to order and check deliveries of stock.

Undertake any necessary training.

Such other duties as may be required from time to time, which are appropriate, and within the competence of the employee.
