Job summary
Highbury House Nursing Home is a privately-run nursing care home looking for someone with a genuine interest in working within a caring environment to become our Lifestyle & Wellbeing Coordinator.
Hours: 24 hours per week, including weekends and occasional evenings. The shift pattern would be:
Week 1 Monday, Tuesday Wednesday, Thursday, 10am-4pm
Week 2 Monday Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday, 10am-4pm
Evenings would be required ad hoc.
Rate: £14.75 per hour on weekdays and £14.75 per hour on weekends.

- show empathy by building relationships with residents, their loved ones and staff as well by providing comfort and company on a one to one basis for Service Users who are unable to undertake any form of activity.
Job Description
We’re looking for a dynamic, outgoing, confident individual to help our residents maintain active and independent lives through the creation and delivery of individualised activity plans based on their abilities, hobbies and life experiences. You will need to:
- Arrange exciting, varied and meaningful daily activities (including group events, outside entertainment, parties etc) for residents.
- Have enthusiasm and passion for your role to encourage residents, relatives and staff to support daily activities.
- Fill out a Lifestyle & Wellbeing profile for each individual resident and consider their physical and mental capacity when arranging activities (this will include reporting any changes in resident’s condition to the care staff).
- Create and update our resident’s activity records and regularly review them with the resident and their relatives.
- Make use of supporting documentation, such as the monthly activities calendar and residents' life story books, to help you create personalised activities.
- Daily reporting of activities.
- Update the activities board for residents as well as provide weekly updates to relatives via email and social media.
- Confidently use social media platforms such as Facebook to share updates with relatives and enhance the home’s reputation.
- Have a knowledge of video conferencing platforms to facilitate video calls between residents and their loved ones and live stream performances.
- Take an active role in community engagement to create opportunities for residents to socialise (virtually or in person) with others of all ages in their local area.
- Support in arranging and attending staff and resident meetings, as and when required.
- Be aware of correct manual handling techniques for each resident to ensure correct support transferring residents.
Essentials
- Need to be imaginative and creative, self-motivated as well as motivational and have a sunny disposition.
- They will need the ability to maintain a professional, positive and approachable manner at all times to both elderly residents and members of staff.

- Must be able to communicate effectively at all levels, be a team player, have a willingness to participate in mandatory training courses when required.
- Must have a satisfactory DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service) check and Adult First.
- To work with the scope of the Data Protection Act 1998 and adherence to all Data Protection Legislation, including the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR)
- To work at all times within the guidelines of the Health & Safety At Work Act 1974, Employee Handbook, Company Policy and Procedure for Infection Control and Company Health and Safety Policy and Procedure, to be aware of all fire exit means of escape from the Home.
