Bedwardine House is a residential care home in Worcester, providing care and support for elderly residents, including those living with dementia.

The Role
We are looking for a strong and proactive Care Team Lead to take responsibility on shift and help ensure high standards of care are maintained.
This role is ideal for someone with good care experience, strong medication knowledge, sound judgement and a calm, confident approach to leading a team. You will support care staff, coordinate care delivery, administer medication and help ensure residents’ needs are met with professionalism, kindness and dignity.
Key Responsibilities
- Medication Management: Administer, book in and order medication safely and accurately, following the home’s procedures.
- Care Planning & Documentation: Create, review and update care plans, daily records and risk assessments, including continence, falls and moving and handling assessments.
- Referrals & Liaison: Communicate with GPs, district nurses, pharmacists, families and other professionals to support assessments, referrals and follow-ups.
- Leadership: Supervise, guide and support care staff on shift, providing clear direction and hands-on support where needed.
- Resident Care: Deliver and oversee personal and emotional care, promoting dignity, choice, independence and person-centred support.
- Challenging Behaviour: Respond calmly and appropriately to behavioural challenges, using de-escalation and person-centred approaches.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with company procedures and CQC standards.
- Shift Coordination: Lead handovers, delegate tasks effectively and ensure continuity of care throughout the shift.
About You
We are looking for someone who has:
- Experience in a senior carer, team leader or similar role within a residential care setting
- Good knowledge of medication procedures and care documentation
- NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care, with Level 3 preferred or willingness to work towards it
- Confidence in leading a team and supporting staff on shift
- Good communication skills when dealing with residents, families and healthcare professionals
- A calm, organised and practical approach when working under pressure
- A genuine passion for supporting older adults and residents living with dementia
Working Hours
- 12-hour shifts
- Day and night shifts available, depending on the position
- Full-time and part-time positions considered
- Rotational shifts, including some weekends
