Mallard House nursing home wins gold award for end of life care

Staff from PJ Care’s Mallard House nursing home have received a gold standard national award for their end of life care in the care homes quality hallmark awards.

PJ Care’s Bluebirds Nursing Home already holds this prestigious award.

The Gold Standards Framework helps residents approaching the end of their lives receive their final care where they want to be and allowing them more chance to die in a care home rather than a hospital if this is their wish.

PJ Care’s chief executive, Paul Moran said: 'We are delighted to have been honoured with this prestigious award for all our homes. We have always prided ourselves on the excellent care we have provided our residents. GSF has helped us formalise this, ensuring that residents enjoy their lives, receiving the high quality care they want in their chosen place right up to the end.'
