HC-One Greenfield Park Care Home in Glasgow was given a new lick of paint last Friday, thanks to a team of volunteers from Tesco Bank.

The team of nine Tesco Bank Managers spent the day re-decorating the home, painting the walls a vibrant array of colours. Bright colours have been proved to significantly help with visual difficulties commonly associated with dementia. They worked hard throughout the day, painting two bathrooms and the home’s ‘Quiet Lounge’. Two of Greenfield’s Residents, Christina Richardson and Jean Houston, even helped with a bit of painting themselves!

Besides being a wonderful opportunity to spruce up the home, the day was a testament to the close relationship between the HC-One home and the local community. Residents and staff enjoyed a great day with the volunteers, chatting to them on their regular tea breaks.

Robert Murray, Greenfield Park Home Manager, said:

“Volunteers are an invaluable source of support for the home, and we are all so grateful to the Tesco team for their hard work and generosity. The walls look wonderful and the Residents are all extremely impressed!”

Paula Keys, Regional Managing Director for Greenfield Park said: “It is fantastic to hear about the strong ties between HC-One homes and businesses in the local area.

The home looks brilliant– a big thank you and well done to everyone involved.”
