Ferfoot Care Home in Chippenham, Wiltshire were delighted to welcome four soldiers from the 27th Regiment RLC when they visited on Wednesday 11th October to speak to our residents who had served in the armed forces.
The soldiers took a break from their regular duties to pay a visit to our home and was held to support the veterans’ community. Our resident veterans were very pleased to welcome members who were currently serving and could swap stories about their different experiences. It brought back so many memories for them.
We were even more pleased when they brought a lovely cake with them and presented vouchers for £60 in their uniforms to our Activities Fund which we put towards items for activities and events we hold within our home.
Nicki Stone, Home Manager, commented
“The visit was greatly appreciated by our residents, as well as the soldiers as it provided them an opportunity to trade stories as well as learn from each other.”
