Residents at Whitby Dene were delighted to receive a visit from the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Boris Johnson.

Boris Johnson visited Whitby Dene care home on Whitby Road where he joined residents for a special afternoon tea. As well as taking a tour of the home, located within his constituency, the politician spent time talking to the residents about their lives over tea and cake.

Whitby Dene home manager, Saad Baig, said: “It was an honour to welcome Boris Johnson to Whitby Dene for what was an enjoyable afternoon. There was a real buzz among the residents when the visit was announced, and everyone was looking forward to showing him around the home.

“Many of the residents here at Whitby Dene have lived in the local area for much of their lives, so we were delighted to be joined by such a notable figure from the community. The residents were delighted to talk about their memories of the local area and had a wonderful time sharing stories from their younger years.”
