Barchester Wykeham House care home in Horley recently presented Age UK East Grinstead & District with a cheque for £1000.
The care home welcomed Elaine McGloin and Lana Scott from Age UK East Grinstead & District and Councillor Mike George, Council Chairman and Horley Town Mayor, for a cheque presentation of the donation as well as a tour of the home and a small celebratory tea party.
Councillor Mike George said “Age UK East Grinstead & District has built up an excellent reputation within its local community through promoting the well-being of older people and helping to make later life a more fulfilling and enjoyable experience”. Lana Scott, Community Manager at Age UK East Grinstead & District, said “This grant means we are able to continue inviting members to outings in the community”, and Elaine McGloin, Chair of Age UK East Grinstead & District said “We had an enjoyable and informative afternoon at Wykeham House, including meeting the team and residents”.
Shirley Emilio, General Manager at Wykeham House Care Home, said: “We are always keen to show as much support as we can to local charities, including those that support the elderly in the local community”.
