Intergenerational Early Years Workshops at Milford House

Salisbury care home Milford House in conjunction with ‘Imagine This Early Years Workshops’ is excited to be launching an initial series of five weekly ‘SHARING MOMENTS’ classes starting on 17th April running from 10.30-11.30am. These structured play workshops have 10 places available for children aged 18 months+ accompanied by their parents in the home. Run by Kirsty Agate and Rebecca Stoodley, both trained Early Years/Primary teachers, the workshops are planned against the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum. Refreshments for all will be provided. Residents are able to come along to the sessions and join in or simply watch what is going on.

Marie-Therese Tiernan General Manager commented; ‘This is such an exciting initiative and we are delighted to be working with Kirsty and Rebecca on this. Having children and their families coming into our home brings a breath of fresh air in from the outside and we hope that it is also something that will be attractive to our own residents who have visitors or family members with young children who might like to book a space and join in. The classes and the planned programme sound wonderful and I can see us all wanting to join in!’

Initial planned sessions will cover: Walk on the Wild Side, If You Go Down to the Woods Today, In the Garden, Run Run as Fast as You Can and Under the Sea. Booking is on a first come first served basis and places are strictly limited and there is a small charge for those children attending.
