Residents and staff enjoyed a day to remember on Saturday 2 June at RMBI Home Albert Edward Prince of Wales Court’s annual strawberry fayre, which raised over £8,600.

The event was officially opened by Sir Paul Williams, Chairman of RMBI Care Co., alongside the Lady Mayor for Bridgend.

Attractions on the day included cake and craft stalls, a BBQ, mini golf, tombola and tasty afternoon tea with fresh strawberries prepared by an army of volunteers. Musical entertainment was also provided by the Maternal Harmony Choir.

“Our strawberry fayre was a hugely successful event. Supported by our Association of Friends, we raised over £8,600 from various activities on the day supported by so many volunteers helping out, from selling raffle tickets to manning stalls and organising the BBQ. The funds raised will go towards supporting our residents’ to continue their favourite activity or hobby, try a new activity from our varied programme, take part in day trips to places of interest and provide much enjoyed external entertainment,” says Home Manager Alison Aberdeen.
