Lavender Oaks Care Home in Carshalton has been celebrating their ‘good’ rating from the Care Quality Commission (CQC) following their first inspection by the regulatory body.
Inspected over the course of two days, the home received ‘good’ outcomes in all five categories of the report, which noted how staff were ‘kind and caring in their interactions with people’, treating residents with dignity and respect and encouraging them to keep up relationships with their loved ones.
Furthermore, CQC reported that staff delivered responsive care according to residents’ needs, providing them with ‘individualised care and support’ whilst also clearly understanding their roles and the rights of those living at the home.
The report went on to say that there was an emphasis placed upon meeting residents’ nutritional needs at mealtimes and residents and families felt engaged and listened to by staff and the registered manager.
Staff at the care home were thrilled with the outcome of the report and in particular, home manager Heather Hadizad, who has been at the helm since the home opened in October 2017.
Heather commented, “We are committed to our residents and to ensuring they receive the very best in all aspects of their care so it’s great to have been recognised as providing a service that is, among other things, effective, responsive and caring. My team work so well together and we’ve gone from strength to strength since opening just over a year ago. This really has topped off a great first year for us and I couldn’t be prouder of my whole team.”
