A resident at Ashley Gardens care centre in Maidstone has celebrated her 104th birthday, marking the occasion with an afternoon tea party with staff from the home.
Emeline Brooker, known as ‘Nanny’ has been a resident at the home on Sutton Road in Maidstone since 2015 and celebrated her special milestone birthday on the 10th October.
Nanny has always lived in Maidstone, often enjoying family holidays to Cornwall. She had two brothers, two sisters and married her beloved husband Albert in January 1934.
Nanny and Albert, who sadly died in 2010, had six children together – two daughters and four sons, who she proudly raised throughout WW2. She was a housewife for most of her life, and also worked at Timothy Whites and Kimberley Clark.
On Thursday 10th October, Nanny was joined by members of the team at Ashley Gardens who delighted in helping her celebrate with a delicious white chocolate birthday cake and tea.
Home manager Jo Mazza said: “We had such a wonderful time celebrating Nanny’s special birthday. It was lovely to see her enjoying such a lovely afternoon with everyone. On behalf of us all here at the home, I would like to wish her a very happy birthday.”
